Yes animals that do not sell in the shop do get put in the adoption centre,thats how i got my rabbit he hadn't sold and was just moved into the adoption centre, he had been in there for 7 months, you give a min donation of £10-£15 which goes to there charity well thats where its ment to go but i dont no weather it does or not. I know they dont do the proper home checks etc, any animal that leaves the adoption centre that has not been neutered they give you £20 towards it which i think is good it only cost£25 to have mine neutered. Although they dont do the checks etc i think they are trying to improve not all pets at home shops are the same it all depends on the people who are working in them. where i live the poeple who work in them generallly care about the animals. I wouldn't change getting my bun from pets at home as i love him to pieces.

Getting a rabbit from a rescue you do not know its heritage etc thou not just in pet shops..

I am talking about in breeding terms, a pet shop is a no no. Anyone dreaming of breeding from a rescue bun is wrong in the head. I f you are looking for breeding rabbits you should purchase from a breeder who knows three generations of the rabbits and so will know of any genes passed on (and if responsible) would have only have bred ones with excellent heritage.

I didnt know about the giving money for neutering. I do agree, that is good. Ill give them credit for that.

Oh rite, sorry yes i agree not to buy from a pet shop if intending to breed them. yes i agree you need to no there background if wanting to breed.

I only found out when i got my bunny i think it gives people an incentive to get there bunnies neutered so people like me can go ahead and get there bun a female friend and not have a litter too.

I think he has a himalayan in him too, but god knows what hes mixed with all pets at home rabbits are mainly crosses according to the vet at one of the branches.

they should give a voucher that asks the vet to get the money from pets at home because giving £20 to neuter....how many people will actually neuter rather than pocket that money. at least where i live they would everyone is so tight with money here lol i get called mad for spending money on my furbabies lol

Yes i believe that is the only positive thing i have heard about pets at home!!
From the size of his ears he looks like he could be crossed with a continental giant perhaps?

Yes i agree it should be a voucher, if you had just got your first rabbit and knew nothing, given £20 i highly doubt you would spend on its neuter.

They give a voucher sorry didnt make that clear. It has to be done by companion care which is pets at homes vet or something within 6 months.

I disagree.
Rabbits are not dirty, they can be trained to use a litter tray, in the exact way a cat does. Rabbits are cleaner than cats, their faeces and urine do not smell as strong and forgive me if im wrong, but don't you constantly see rabbits forever grooming themselves or their partners?

I dont like their companion care, someone i knew went their, booked her rabbit in for a spey and got told to fast him the night before -shocked-
A rabbit should never be fasted as their digestive tract is forever going, a GA slows this, so if you had fasted the bun, slowing it further... you would be looking at a dead rabbit on the table.
This was the receptionist that said it, luckily my friend knew that was wrong and persisted until the receptionist checked with a vet... and was proved wrong.
Imagine if it was a new rabbit owner none the wiser.. there would have been a tragedy.

Who are you disagreeing with? i do agree with what your saying they are very clean far from dirty. I am in the process of training thumper hes getting better.

Ohh rite i was told to feed him as they cant be sick or something i have had good experiences with companion care the receptionist ovbiously didn't no what the hell she was on about. Silly woman.

yes rabbits have no gag reflex and can not be sick.
The reason they fast cats and dogs is incase they are sick, in which case they would choke on it (as they are knocked out on their sides)
