Central locking Rover 416sli(1995)

I can lock car with key lock with resistance drivers door , then other three doors manually.!! This is the result of Kwikfit doing the MOT last week. Thats how we got it back!!! Anyone any ideas please?????

When I try to lock doors with key, on first turning key it locks, then pop[s open again, but if you again force key round again it stays locked. I will try and get to drivers door lock tomorrow( no Haynes manual for this car!-- Do the door panels come off easy?? OZZ
