Can someone help. My 2001 Y reg punto has been misfiring. This is an intermittent mis-fire as sometimes it is fine then suddenly it will start stalling / misfiring. Does anybody have any idea what could cause such a problem. clearly it must be electrical but what. Can spark plugs or HT leads cause this type of problem?

from wat ive been told ecu,s can give problems with that age punto , if it was leads or plugs it would be missing all the time but u say its every now and then.

hi, could be coils,,plug leads,,or crankshaft sensor...cheers...moz..

Im new to this site.Can anyone help.I have a 2001 51 plate Punto 1.2 8V
Every so often it wont start. It could run for months then all of a sudden wont go.If I put petrol down carb it invariably starts up or if I leave it for an hour or two or sometimes overnight it will start.Finally the stange thing it will always start with a push .Anyone any ideas.Thanks
