I have a male like yours Kitty only he's been very badly treated in the past. He is now 11 years old and has a deformed tongue so he can only kiss you on one side. He has a severe heart murmur and kidney problems but is spoilt rotten and has me wrapped round his paw and he knows it coz' he laughs at me,

oh eck ...here i go ..i have GIVEN A DOG AWAY ..i got her off THIS site paid good money for her she was 10 months when we got her ..we asked the owners if she was OK with other dogs they replied OH YES shes brill ..i don't expect people to lie to me but they did ..she was a star with adults but hated other dogs .i have a lab of 7 years she was aggressive nasty and torment his life out ..this resulting in her being in her crate most of the day ..other than her walks and feeding times ..it was a heart wrenching discussion and not one made lightly ..i sobbed like a child when i passed her over i felt like i also have let her down but what was i do to ..let my poor old lab get hurt or to keep her locked up ..it was not fair on him or her ..i made the new owners promise to look after her i took her to them ..i still miss my lady now and would give anything to change the outcome ..I'm not a horrid person or selfish ..the ones that had her in the first place are the HORRID ONES ,,a week later after us getting our dog the same people had YET A NOTHER DOG FOR SALE ..same breed amb ..:( it brakes my heart that peole can just give dogs away to make a easy buck ..i have had to learn the had way

what breed was she ?
normally if a dog is sold its for a reason ie they have ruined it in some way not all are mind but some are and they wont be upfront as they know dam well they wont get rid of it if they do
i dont think you are bad you took on a dog in good faith your own dog had to come first it wasnt fair on either dog to keep the new one if he was dog aggressive and you did the right thing finding him a new good home where he could be the only dog and made sure they knew he didnt like other dogs
those previous owners need a good kick up the jacksy

Thank you both for your support :) she was a American bull dog ,that hated other dogs :( i did ask if she was OK with other dogs, well you do don't you. also i asked if she was house trained and what food she had been fed on IE tinned or dry .they said tinned so after driving 50 miles with out new dog we both thought she looked a little on the SKINNY SIDE. so off to the shops we went to get her some food the same they stated she was fed on ..well with in a few hours she was messing all over the house it was like water ..THANK GOD FOR WOODEN FLOORS ..the next day we starved her and then gently introduced food to her every two hours ..NOT TINNED FOOD i must say ..fish.. rice and pasta was on the menu for this lady ..but after a few days we started adding dry food to the pasta ..she was and is a lovely looking dog that loved the home life and she adored kids ..but it was her hate for other dogs ..my lab is a sweetie he wouldn't hurt a fly .and it broke my heart to see him getting attacked for doing nothing ..he's getting on a bit now he's no young pup ..we tried and tried with her ..the vet said she had turned ..and there was no going back ..when we found her a new home we did state that she hates other dogs no matter how big or small and we did say to the new owners never give her tinned food ..i hope they give her the love she had come to know ..and can be part of a family like she was part of ours ..even if it was for a short time ..i do agree .the people we got her from are Evil maybe if they gave her the time she needed was brought her up right then she might have not had so many problems with other dogs ..bringing up dogs its like bringing up kids they need love but they also need boundaries laid down ..and not allowed to get away with murder ..they needed to be understood ..like us they have needs too ..not just to be fed and watered ..but on the out come of this there is some sunshine ..we have TWO new additions to our family two American bulldogs ..but PUPPIES not half grown dogs ..and my lab loves to watch them play they don't bother with him really other than the odd sniff now and then .. :)

Aww im glad it had a happy ending - the original dog/owners sounds exactly like my dally. I bought him from here too, owner contacted me after i posted a wanted ad, stating that i'd just lost my beloved dog to old age. That was heartbreaking enough, but my other dog was pining so badly he wouldnt eat and i had to get another dog for company. She too told me he was great with cats/kids/other dogs, housetrained etc - ALL LIES! And, the rest is history..bonded with him as he was an amazingly beautiful dog with me..but tried to kill the cat, wasnt housetrained and tried to attack the dog over my daughter's face. I completely understand your pain at giving yours up for rehoming. I sobbed for days and still miss him now! I think it makes you a stronger person if you rehome them sometimes - not a bad person. Its incredibly difficult, emotionally.

it is always sad to here of people who lie when trying to get rid of their animals. getting rid is the only way to describe it as they certainly cannot be animal lovers.I was very lucky with my claire, who sadly died, as she treated my cat like her mother. When i fed the animals claire would sit down and wait for the cat to eat her food then she would eat hers. since claire died the cat keeps looking around the flat for her. claire slept in my bedroom and now she is gone the cat headbuts my door every morning to see if claire is there. every animal i have ever had has been "nutty" including my budgie who the cat loves. I just hope my new puppy , when she comes home, will like the cat and budgie too.

Thanks nobby for your support also :) ..things have turned out for the better. But just wish people where more honest at times ..looking after dogs is not a easy task and should be taken on with that in mind .Looking after a dog takes time and commitment and money ..i think some people think some dogs stay puppies ..or don't grow in to big dogs ..the American bulldog are large dogs and need a lot of looking after ..but well worth it it ..they are miscevous little devils and like nothing more than running off with the washing as I'm trying to peg it out ..and pinching shoes and running off with them ..thank god for crates :) ..but i do see more and more amb dogs on sites and it worries me ..people should research the breed get knowledge about them before they take on this type of dog ..or any large breed of dog ..but come to think about it people should do the knowledge on any dog or cat they want to take on as a pet ..take care have a lovely day :)
