Grand Problems
Messages 1 to 4 of 4.
I have just purchased a 3.1 turbo diesel Grand Cherokee, it's done 58'000 miles Jeep serviced and it's a 2001 model. I've just taking it throught the M O T passing with no problems diesel emmisions well under recommendations. Driving it on the motorway I noticed that there was a bit more smoke than usual out of the exhaust, when running at 50 - 60 mph seemed fine, at slower speeds it stuggled only picking up when the turbo cut in. later the same day and 150 miles later I had to pull over when I noticed the it started to overheat, I managed to stop before it got to the red. once it was cold I restarted it and it seemed fine for about 30 mins and then the performance started to suffer again and the smoking returned. Has anyone had the same thing happen on such a low mileaged Jeep, or is this a common problem on what I believed to be a very reliable 4 x 4. Stef.

If its overheating get it checked over asap , have you checked to see if the vehicle is losing coolant ? The 2 problems may be connected but for the time being concentrate on the overheating problem and get it checked out . ___________________ http://landroveradvice.myfastforum.org The only believers are brainwashed !!
