rough running

i wonder of anyone can pinpoint a problem i'm having at low speeds i bought my sporting w reg punto last year, when i got it i noticed a slight "murmer" if you will, in its idleing. since then its gradually become worse and i've found recently, although i don't run it very often anymore, that if i'm stuck in traffic for a while the engine starts to struggle getting going again and the power cuts out when accelerating the injection warning light on the dash has come on a few times when this has happened, but as soon as i'm on the motorway it levels out again and there's no problem. could it be an injector blockage, i've tried redex a couple of times but it didn't seem to make a difference or is it something more serious any help would be ace! darren
