Hi Dora

Have you tried upholstery cleaner for a car. It is quite cheap and should do the job. Alternatively use some cheap shaving foam (not gel), rub it in and leave it to dry, then hoover it off. It worked on a dirty oily footmark on the passenger seat of my jag which is half beige material. It also works on carpet stains

Hi i have the same prob , we have sofa's with the same thingĀ  , doesn't matter what wev'e tried it always dries up the same ( we have come to the conclusion that the fabric must just be worn ) even more annoying is it's only the arms as we have always used big throws , but they are large sofa's so they always slip off over the arm ends ( especially with two big doggies laying on them ! ) ours is a slight velour effect too , we have tried loads of cleaners , and a steam cleaner to no avail , so think new furniture may have to be on the cards soon .
