also a leaking exhaust manifold could cause a loss of performance.

I removed the intercooler and had a look around and found that the pipe that should be attached to the actuator( i think it's the actuator) was actually attached to the bootom of the fuel filter. Refitted to the actuator and all working hunky dory now. Cheers Mate
