Hi everyone, am new here.

OK a bit of advice, I'm trying to sell my stepdads Mitsubishi 4x4 on eBay, but for some reason it's not selling and I've no idea why.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl......:MESE:IT&ih=014

Any suggestions on how to sell a 4x4?

4x4lover .

Probably because you have it on a clasified ad , similar to a buy it now which doesnt attract the punters .

Put it on auction , work out the lowest price you want for it and set that as the reserve price .
Either that or dont set a reserve and start the bidding at 99p , put it on 10 day auction and keep your fingers crossed .

Hi dudkat72

Thanks for the advice. The car has previously been listed on eBay under normal auction and didn't sell then. That's why I thought I'd try the classifieds because at least then people can make offers, even if it's not for the full asking price.

I've also had a word with the owner and he doesn't want to put it on a 99p auction because he doesn't want to sell it too cheaply.

The 99p is simply just to get offers started as you may already have a reserve on the car already anyway.

I think that many people will be put off by the mileage shown on the advert.

29,949 miles (yes less than 30k) is far too low for a 15 year old vehicle in the UK. I realise that the car is probably an import, if it is the fact should be mentioned.

Hello try adding to your advert that this car dosen't fall into the new road tax laws, as many people are put off buying 4x4's because of this.

And selling it as sold as seen puts people off, offer a test drive as well.

When it comes to 4x4s I generally prefer an import as normally the warmer climate of being abroad preserves them a lot better rust wise.
I agree with mike, mention that it's an import as a lot of people not in the trade might not know this it also helps to explain the lower mileage.
Sometimes I also find some of these jap inmports are better specced particularly on the older stuff.
Any service history you may have might also help as 4x4s can be dear to fix.
Whilst technically any private sale is "sold as seen" you would be better to remove it from the advert.
