Hi Malcolm, fantastic, you are spot on! Do you know where I can find out how to repair the elastics?

its just a case of looking between the hood and the lining you will see the worn elastics. I replaced mine by simply tying in places and/sewing new onto old but with more tension. It is all a bit hit and miss but it will work. I now automatically catch my roof as it drops down and hold it just long enough for the rear window to rise and lid to lock down. In the 306 club we call it 'the yawn' as you stretch up to catch the roof it looks to an outsider as tho you are having a stretchy yawn. silly arnt we ... goto. http://www.peugeot306cabrioletclub.co.uk join and reap the free expertise from us all. I am ''SKIPPY'' IN THAT CLUB. ITS ALL FREE. Good luck. Malcolm.

Dear Malcolm

the hood would not come up from the boot called the aa,who tried the manual in the boot this did not work.eventually they lifted the lid and managed to lift the roof back into position.the lever or arm which i think works the hydrolic part had snapped hense the reason for the hood not moving either with the electrics or manually

If you can work out where the problem lies you can generally do the repairs yourself, it depends on the problem. See Malcs message above for a really friendly and helpful bunch.
If you can do it yourself you will save a fortune on garage bills so it's worth having a look and trying
If you need to resort to a mechanic I would suggest getting all the info together and then approach your friendly local garage as they will probably be cheaper than a main stealer.

hi Pandora
Thanks for that,i had been told that it was a specialist job to make sure the roof is aligned it appears that this is not the case.

Most things can be done with the help of the Cab club, there is also a video available which tells you all about how to set/align the movable bits connected with the hood including aligning the hood itself and the windows to get rid of any niggly gaps

Hi Mary

This is quite a common problem unfortunately and Peugeot will sell you a full set (8) hoses, no less. Ebay is an option but they're generally second hand, SO...... joint the Peugeot 306 Cabriolet Club at http://www.306cab.com and look in the Shop. Individual, high quality hoses can be purchased there.

Be seeing you

My partner has been messing with the bolt on the back of the seats and I am not sure whether this has anything to do with that but the other day whilst driving the motor started trying to lift the storage lid and now the roof will not work. There is no noise from the motor, all wires look ok. I have tried a manual reset but no luck. Any suggestions please?

Hi, i brought my 206 cabriolet on saturday and by sun evening the hood had packed up. I thought it was because i had been 'testing' it a lot. It just went dead and nothing happened when i used the switch. Wot we done was, nr the quarter os window there is a plastic trim where the hood hinge folds into, after manually folding down the roof we took of this plastic panel and inside there is a fuse and a couple of wires, which were squashed due to the hood going up and down which contains a fuse in a black fuse holder. The fuse was welded into the fuse holder which we replaced and moved the wires away from the hood as it closes inside under the panel to prevent crushing again and re earthed it. It still didnt work though but we think this caused the green relay to go which was under the steering wheel under the dash on the right. We replaced this also and hay presto it worked again. Might be worth checking that ur wires havnt been crushed as well. Funny thing is when i operate the hood now its a lot quieter and we can't here the moter operate any more. Hope this helps.
