hi there Alison907, i have copied and pasted the instructions that Jason left on the site on 12th May 2008. it works great! careful with the nut in the boot (instruction nos. 2 & 7). 1 un clip both locks to the roof from inside the car and push roof up as if you were going to operate it by the switch. 2 open boot and by fitting the wheel wrench into the hole on the back of the seats you can unlock the roof storage compartment.(turn clockwise) SO YOU CAN SEE THE COMPARTMENT POP OPEN. 3 lift the back window part of the roof 4 now lift the storage lid. ( this is much easier with 2 people). 5 now you can lift the front of roof and continue to do this so that it all fits back into the conpartment 6 now close the compartment lid as far as it will go. 7 back in the boot place the wrench back in the hole and lock the lid by a small turn anti clockwise so you can see it pull close. 8 close and lock the car as normal. 9 now open as normal and turn on ignition 10 operate switch to close roof..... this should now work ok. good luck :)

I think you need to repair/replace the broken bolt first cos with it broken the hood bin cover can't be released manually P

hi mate interested in ur roof failure, i have bought a 306 and knew the roof didnt work but ive had pugs for yrs and not to bad on them, ive checked the switch power to the power pack (in your photo and its ok up and dwn) i think one of the position sensors on the hydraulic cylinders has failed or is not made so the pack has lost its position so looking to reste manually can u explain which solenoid to short out etc, i know its not hte pump i bypassed the relay and it works great. dont u know anyone who has a schematic drawing for the system electrics/ hydraulics that would be great . hope you can help ragado

Hey Ragado,,,who was that message aimed at mate ??? Have you tried a manual reset so that the roof ecu will be reset? I reccommend that you join http://www.306cabrioletclub.co.uk Here we have many many experts who will give free advice to fellow cab owners. Good luck.

Thought i'd give you guys an update:Final got round to fixing the part that wouldn't lock my roof lid. Put all the part back together, manual reset and BAM! The roof is working. Just a shame it's October and the sun/heat has gone. Still... fixed PUG :) Hope things work out for you

laura4014,If your bolt spins and spins, you need that part fixed first. The whole roof sequence is out otherwise as it thinks the roof lid isn't closed. I had this problem but managed to fix the bolt without buying a new part. This is the part that more than likely needs fixing: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3442/4002664536......893815945_o.jpg Happy to offer help

Bypass it or replace it? Are we talking the roof ecu and is this because the roof it not working or not working correctly? If it is the roof you cannot bypass it, the system cannot work without one as there will be no means of controlling the sequence. Could join 306cab.com and ask there too
