hi there! not sure if this will help. had the same prob and a guy on pre-loved gave me the way to do it and it worked for me. i kept copy so will type for you. 1.un clip both locks to roof from inside car & push roof up as if u are going to operate by switch. 2.open boot and by fitting wheel wrench into the hole on the back of the seats you can open roof storage compartment.(turn clockwise)SO YOU CAN SEE THE COMPARTMENT POP OPEN). 3.lift the back window part of roof. 4.now lift storage lid (this easier with 2 people). 5. now u can lift the front of roof and continue to do this so that it all fits back into compartment. 6.now close compartment lid as far as it will go. 7.back in the boot, place wrench back in hole and lock lid by a small turn anti clockwise so you can see it pull close. 8. close and lock the car as normal. 9. now, open car as normal and turn on ignition. 10. operate switch to close roof-this should work ok. fingers crossed for you. i know it worked for my pug. good luck!

Hi there! my pug's hood is working great now. I followed the instructions to the letter-with the help of a very patient friend-and it worked like a charm. I was gobsmacked as i figured that the pug people were going to make a fortune out of me and wondered how someone on a discussion board could possibly help....derrr!!. if you go back thru this discussion board you will find the original conversation via Jason early this year. I wish you luck, even tho you won't need it. take care :)

Hi, I have had the exact same problem with my PUG and have followed the instructions given that have helped many others, but for some reason mine will still not work. It is currently folded down and locked, but will not raise at all. The problem started as all others seem to have with the hood not retracting properly. I have solved that through this site (many thanks), but there is still no power. Does anyone please have any suggestions. Cheers

Dan. I have the spindle you need if you still need one. It has been drilled and repaired so will never ''spin'' again Malc.

OK - now I have this problem too - I tried the manual reset and the boot lid opened but the hood did not come up. I have been opening and closing manually but now the lid is stuck in the locked position (with the hood up thankfully) and will not unlock, the nut just spins round. Any ideas guys - I would gladly pay someone to sort it if they are local.

You need a new pin. It's the pin that is spinning round and not locking the lid. Have a look at the picture I uploaded, you'll see the part you need. There is a guy on here called Malc - he may have one to sell to you.

Hi. Yes I do have a 'repaired' spindle that will cure once and for all the problem of ''the spinning nut''. Your prob now is to get the lid open without too much damage. lucky for me I have never had to do this, however , if you take the back of the rear seats off (easy job) I understand that with a rigid tol prob home made you can access the storage space through a couple of holes in the rear bulk head, then its a case of fiddling until you can unclip the system and release the cables holding the lid claws. It is always possible to drill your own access hole to facilitate an entry point of course. A spindle will cost you £20 delivered by post in the UK prepaid through paypal. Let me know how you get on. I reccomend any cab owner to join this club linked below.http://www.peugeot306cabrioletclub.co.uk Malcolm.
