Where do you top up the hydraulic oil for the power hood. Have just taken the hard top off and discovered a leak. Steve.

If you look inside the boot on the right hand side, take off the cover for the rear lens and the covering around the inside of the boot, there you will find the hydraulic pump. Fill the pump between Min and Max line, do not overfill bearing in mind that the pump will sit on a slant in the boot. If you are just testing to find your leak fill the pump half way to minimum so not to waste the fluid as its expensive stuff. Hope this helps. Trokski

Thanks Trokski It's dead easy when you know where it is. I'll put all the seats back in now. Looks like a hose has been trapped when the hood has been lowered, any ideas whre to locate replacements?. Steve.

Hiya Steve. If you join our club at http://www.peugeot306cabrioletclub.co.uk we have a member who manufactures the pipes. They are far cheaper than pug replacements and also stronger. I will assume that the pipe that has chaffed is down the side where the frame rubs. This is a common area and on the site there is a guide how to protect them there. Good luck mate. Malc.

Hi 751,,,noooo dont go to peugeot ,,,.Your best bet for rams is ebay or http://www.1stchoice.co.uk which is a broker for over 250 breakers yards. It is unusuall for a ram to leak, are you sure its not the connector where it joins the ram?? As far as £50 to refill the reservois,,,halfrauds or basically most motor shops grade 32 hydraulic oil and do it yourself its an easy job as the system is self priming.

Don't forget that you don't have to go to Peugeot to get the hydraulic fluid, any will do so long as it is 32 grade (it'll say so on the container) and it's considerably cheaper from your local motor factors

I say again (pandora please read previous posts) our club .http://www.peugeot306cabrioletclub.co.uk has a member who makes new hoses for the cabs. The club is free to join and all the members collectively have a wealth of knowledge re 306 cabs phase 1,2 and 3. jross, I assume you mean hydraulic PIPES not cables. The only real cables involved in the roof are the 2 that control the lid claws. Now,,, it IS a job you can do yourself and save £100s of pug pounds,,,it is however seriously reccomended you join us at the club,,,there is in the ''guides'' section instructions re replacing hydraulic roof pipes,,,and of course you can get them/it from another member at minimal costs. Regarding a manual,,,well,,,haynes do not do a cab specific manual. a 306 manual for the correct phase will cover most engine bodywork items BUT not the roof on a cab...This is why the club is so very very useful with the collective knowledge and the french links, Good luck chap, Malcolm.

Hi Shane,,,sorry but I have no spares at the moment. However it is easy to repair !! dont panik,,,Strip the mechanism off and the piece you need is as per the attached photo. Simply drill right through the ally and the steel spindle then force in and through a roll pin type rivit,,,smooth off the ends if they are sticking out,,,then you have a repaired unit. On re-assembly put loads of grease on every moving part as there are so many cantalevers on the mechanism they all rely on each other. When refitted do a full manual reset and I bet you it will all work again...

My 306 electric roof opens fine, but won't close properly. The front section of the rood flops down over the windscreen, and the frame section under the rear window doesn't lift, so the plastic cover has nowhere to go and is left upright. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Hello Cas. Your problem stems from I believe worn elastics,,,yes elastics. The whole roof is tensioned by elastic strips about 2 inches wide. These control the speed at which the various parts fold and open. Each movement is controlled again by the roof ecu which tells the rams to move up or down... I suggest that when closing the roof you take your finger off the switch just b4 the roof drops onto the windscreen, catch the roof and hold it up with the right hand and repush the switch with your left,,the rear window should now rise, the lid close and the roof will gently be allowed to drop dow to the screen,.This is a common problem and the elstics can be replaced as a D I Y job easilt.
