I still think the Back to the future trilogy and Indiana Jones trilogy were something really special for their time, also going down another path the horror Salems Lot, that really did scare me at the time, got me into reading Stephen King.

the indiana films are some of my favourites, so is the jurassic park trio,

stephen king i'm not that fond of really, i prefer clive barker or shaun hutson even james herbert.
Lord of illusions is a brilliant film with Scott Bakula as harry D'Amour (a brilliant D'Amour!) if you've read any of Barkers books featuring D'Amour he is just how i imagined a young version of the detective to be. i like horror films to have plenty of gore as well as creepy bits :-)

The best movie I've ever watched 'Always' starring Richard Dreyfuss, Holly Hunter (Mmm) & John Goodman.

It's similar in theme as Ghost (over rated, lol), but oh so much better :-)

Worst Movie...I don't watch bad movies...

i have to admit, i cried way more at always than i did at the end of ghost, but patrick swayze is way hotter than richard dreyfus, not of course that being hotter makes the film any better, its just that bit more pleasing to the eye :-)

I've had a thing for Patrick ever since i saw him in the outsiders, very yummy! and kitless in dirty dancing SWOON!!!!!!!!!
but i do agree holly hunter is much better looking and a better actress than demi moore, and her accent is just lovely :-)

Hi, have seen the Die Hard Trilogy, thought the third film excellent, but as yet not seen 4.0. So can't comment, any good?
But of course most of Bruce's films are.

Die Hard 4 is perhaps the best of the bunch for me, certainly more action...

I might even watch it again over the weekend as there isn't really much on right now...

Ah, but having kids changes your viewing don't you think? if you were young free and single, like i once was you'd have something, lets say like Love actually or Bridget jones, but, i will admit Ice age is very good, along with most animated film, i suppose if i was pushed one of my all time fav's would have to be the Magnificent Seven or The Great Escape. 2 Stick Insects?

i love the great escape, i know i've said it before but any film that gives you Steve Mcqueen and motorbikes together has to be a winner. it makes me cry too, when donald pleasence dies.
other brilliant war films... hannibal brooks with the wonderfull ollie reed, von ryans express (hubby says the ONLY decent sinatra movie ever!) although i think he was good in young at heart!
seven brides for seven brothers..singing in the rain....calamity jane
i LOVE old musicals. but they have to have a bit of humour too.
one of my alltime favourite films is little big man starring dustin hoffman, if you have never seen it, it just has to be watched, its got humour, sex, romance, violence and native americans :-), and revolves around hoffmans character.
a man called horse, i first watched it as a kid and i still sob everytime.

i have seen little big man, but when i was a kid, maybe its time to search it out again, also Bullet with Mcqueen and the brilliant Dambusters, but thats proberly more a boys film, i love true to life, but as you say you can't beat a weepy. It's a wonderful life will always bring a tear.

i'd forgotten about dambusters!!! you're right great film. i grew up in a house with 6 brothers and only 1 sister and a dad who would watch all war films, westerns and documentaries so i think thats most likely where my love of that type of film comes from. i'm a huge action movie fan and i love films like demolition man, die hard etc. and westerns too like pale rider and the sergio leonie movies.
i watched the lake house for the first time yesterday (i'm not a big keanu fan so i'd put off watching it) it was really good! i even almost cried at the end :-)

I think i would still like the animated films whether i had kids or not -used to love jungle book, before kids!
I cant stand any type of western or musicals. Hubby is into all that (will sing along on occasion!) im sure there's something hes not telling me about himself...lol

Hi Nobby, don't like westerns i don't know, what about Back to the Future 3? A good one to get you laughing is Blazing Saddles, ask anyone who's seen it, fantastic.

blazing saddles is a classic, anyone who doesnt laugh at the campfire scene must have absolutely no sense of humour at all! back to the future 3 is my favourite of the trilogy, the train is way better than the delorean, plenty of room the family and the dog :-)
