I am trying to drive an Australian 4x4 from London to Africa and can't get anybody in the EU or in Australia to insure it unless I remove the AUS plates. There must be another way to get insurance. Anybody that can help?
Cheers,
Meir

Is it possible to reregister it in the uk, then try again with a uk insurer? The DVLA website should tell you how to set about it.

Hi John,
The car has an Australian licence plate and is intended to drive through Europe to Africa. It therefore needs insurance for its AUS licence and not to be registered in the UK.
It is not that easy. Thanks,
Meir
