The central locking on the drivers door fails to lock / unlock sometimes and I have just noticed when the lock wont work the window is dead too! Also door speaker seems to have died too - but cannot confirm was not dead previously. Have taken the trim off and checked and cleaned the connection plugs in the door, worked last night but this morning all dead again. Any ideas? Is there a main connector somewhere that controls all these functions maybe?

The cables normally have a connector in the door jam. Open the door & have a look, pull the rubber boot from the cable where it goes into the car. This should be the plug. Can't rmember how it is kept in place but assume there must be a screw. Take a look & post back what you find.

Check the wiring loom that goes from the front wing into the door, these
usually perish through time and cause problems electrically due to
constant door opening.Another problem area on this car
is the wiring loom that passes into the top of the tail gate, these also
play up in time with electrical faults.Cables don`t like being bent
backwards and forwards and will split open eventually, causing faults.

Thank you everybody. I took the door trim off and found 2 connectors which I cleaned with contact cleaner and re-plugged but still no joy. I then followed the wiring through the rubber trunking in the door jamb and it all goes towards the fuse box area. I then pushed upon those plugs to ensure tightness and everything started to work again. That was a few days ago and its still all working ok.
