406 heater fan came on full now won't turn off HELP!!

406 heater fan came on full now won't turn off HELP!!

I have a 110 rapier hdi on a 52 plate, while driving yesterday the heater fan came on full by itself, turned the auto symbol off on the display and the blower symbol off also, but the blowers stayed on max, can anyone tell me why and how to fix this please

Have recently fixed the problem, after checking the heater motor which was fine, then replaced the control unit in the dashboard that also was fine, we replaced the heater resistor under the right hand side of the glovebox £50.10 from peugeot dealer, very happy it's now working normally again..: )
