Hi, I am having trouble with ac/battery switch over. My presario laptop v2000 won't run on battery. The battery is fully charged but when I pull out the ac power it switches off, I would be greatfull for any ideas. Mick

hi there
i have found that if you use a universal adapter the laptop will only run on the power.if it is the original adapter then the battery is probarbly goosed.i dont think they last very long on some models.advent and dell seem to last but i have had a couple of toshibas and they dont last too long.hope this helps

havin a similar problem,so whats the difference between the power lead and a universal adaptor?

not too sure but i think the universal does not send a charge i think it may just be a power adapter.i am getting a new charger for the advent shorly so i will let you know if this makes a difference

hi there
got an original charger for my advent now instead of the universal and touch wood it recharged my battery fully and it now lasts a couple of hours without the power so i dont think the universals give a charge to the batteries.
