My fiancee and I are looking to rent a narrowboat in South Wales, to live on. Does anyone on this site have any useful advice they could share, to help us with our search, or know of a boat. Bearing in mind that we are in the process of starting our own family. The ideal size would be 3-4 birth and 50-70ft long. I have limited experience of living on a narrowboat, I lived on one in Oxford for 6 months in 2001 and have always wanted to do it again but the opportunity has not arisen until now. Could anyone help us please?

It's often quite difficult to find narrowboats to rent, reason being it's illegal to rent them out without a commercial license and insurance, making it quite awkward and expensive to do.
There are rentals sometimes advertised on Apollo Duck You could also try here http://www.etrr.co.uk/
It won't necessarily be that cheap!
Read the licensing requirements here http://www.waterscape.com/media/documents/20710.pdf
