I fell out with my local garage due to them ripping me off several times, so I had to find a new one to use, a friend recommended I use our local Bosch garage, so I did, went in on monday to book my car in for an MOT, they had a spot for wednesday which I thought was pretty good as most garages can't book you in for at least a week, anyway it failed on emissions and 1 of the headlamps was out of line, they said it needed a lambda sensor for the emissions and thats all they're charging me for, No labour or anything because they said it will only take 20 mins to fit the sensor and sort out the headlamp and I even get a free retest, so all I have to pay is £40 for the MOT and £20 for the sensor, result! I'll be using them again, so the cars having a retest tomorrow and I'll have it back for the afternoon, fingers crossed.

The more suspicious people out there might ask why is it they can book a car in at short notice whilst others are booked up for ages ?

£20 for a lambda sensor !!! is it a genuine part ? I'm doubtful.
It's actually a requirement by law for all the garages to give you a free re-test within the specified 10 working days, it tells you that on your VT30 (FAIL) sheet.
£40 for the mot is reasonable though.
Headlamp alignment is something that a lot of garages will do for you F.O.C especially if you are giving them the work to do on your car after the mot.
However as long as you are happy with the service and cost thats what it's all about.
