mmmm parrots have dislikes just as we do they are almost human
at some point without thinking she may have done something to upset him most parrots will become one person birds some will be ok with all

its also a dominance thing too in his house shes intruding at yours its a new place so he was quietier

has he has his wing clipped to prevent him flying at her if not get this done asap this will curb that problem straight away and she can begin working with him

when her mum comes in to the house get her to talk to him as she would the kids sort of thing quietly say hello dont attempt to touch him at all let him go to her which if she is quiet and patient around him he will and if he cant fly at her her will settle a bit more it takes a lot of time but eventually he may stop attacking her so much

Yeah parrots can be like little kids and teenagers they have there moments, what kind of parrot is it?,i think like to show of and show who wants to be the boss i know my grey is brill with me and he will tollorate hubby but will try and show his dominance side and i have noticed when i am alone with my parrot he is the most loving parrot ever and when pepo are in hes very noisey and will show of like nipping my hubby and getting a bit show off with me so my just a dominance thing, some cases birds take a disslike to someone and thats it no matter what you do it wont work.
what about his past was he bought from a breeder or someone?,mybe hes so used to getting pasted about mybe hes ok for a while then gets moved on and mybe its the only way he knows, because parrots sometimes have bahaverial problems and that might be his.

good luck anyways

parrots like kids have a toddler stage tantrums and all as they become mature they will try to push there luck and if some one is an easy target all the better
it becomes a game
i have a mate that my macaw makes a point of stalking whenever she walks in the doar hes done it for the last 3 years started when he worked out that she was frightend of him
the other 4 take no notice of her
once hes fed up of playing with her he laughs at her and goes back to what he was doing
don't give up and keep working with both of them
i agree shes probly done something to upset him with out knowing it there not just birds they are clever birds

hiya ,thanks for your reply's,billyboy is a amazon green parrot, he's 2yr old, shirley bought him from a petshop, the petshop owner told her billy was a sweet bird ,and like me she know's nothing about parrots, fair enough ive had budgie's and cockatiel's,but parrots are a different kettle of fish, lol their beak's are a lot bigger to start with !!.
shirley had his wings clipped and is taking him on monday to get it re-done,but even when the wings were done billyboy would take a run at the mum and bite hell out of her legs and feet, the mum screams which makes the bird worse,i think the bird knows she's scared of it,lol she's refusing to visit shirley now,i always go armed with his fav food ,peapods .pine nuts and banana's

well there in lies the main problem he knows scared to death and boy do parrorts play that

my hbyy was almost scared of my grey as he didnt know what to do round him and charlie would bite if he went near he is a womans bird thru and thru so hubby has very patiently talked to him all the timme been making a fuss every time he passed the cage which we have by the door so he can do this

yesterday charlie was on my arm and hopped on to hubbys and sat there then sat by him on this pc and let hubby stroke him you have never seen anyone so chuffed (since kids were born that is) and that was down to pure patience

her mum needs to stop screaming for a start big big no no where parrots or indeed any animal is concerned would she do that to a child ?? no so she needs to go armed like you do with his fav treats (bribery they are more like kids than birds it may help if shirley puts him in the cage when mum is there so she can talk to him in the cage and give him treats a few times so she begains to re build a relationship with him

also amazons are one of the worst parrots for being so aggressive at breeding time to they become jekell and hyde almost so he may even settle after

hiya ,i just thought i would update you's on billyboy,he's still being a bad wee laddie,he still attacks the mum any chance he gets ,he even managed to squeeze out of the gap where the seed dish goes on his cage to get at her,now anytime shirley goes away i get billyboy over here, lol the neighbours must wonder whats going on ,i love having billyboy but am stll a wee bit weary of him ,he gave me a fright last week ,i was cleaning out his cage with a wee brush ,lol billy decided he wanted my wee brush ,he grabbed my finger with his foot then used his beak to remove the brush from my hand,i was standing saying to myself oooh sh*t !! ooh sh*t !!! ooh sh*t ,i was waiting on the bite but once he got the brush he was quite happy ,my hubby said i went chalk white, its a very busy house here now as ive now got 3 baby greys plus my 2yr old african grey jinky,am still waiting on my last baby grey which i will get at the ended of this month....

he a little begger isnt he have you clipped his wings? he doesnt sound like he was being nasty taking the brush off you though the one thing with hand reared parrots is they dont know how to be birds and so have no fear of humans so come the time they reach a year up wards to around 5-6 they can be evil much worse that a parent reared and tamed down parrot if you can and dont already allow him as much time out the cage as you can it worked with my grey he was a tad fiesty when we got him but is fab now well with me but doesnt attack anyone just teases them

i,ve had a few really bad bits off all mine but i let them get on with it one of my too literally bit right thru my ear twice and has taken a piece out my hand and thats the 40yr old soppy tame one she was on my shoulder and used misplaced aggression against me as my stepson walked in next to me and she loathes him lmao so i got bitten she,s still my baby though they all are and the newer too regulary eats my hands for breakfast too the grey is great he never bites hard
