HI CAN ANY ONE PLEASE HELP ME? I RECENTLY BOUGHT A ABBIE 416 GTS BUT AFTER REMOVING THE WATER PUMP WITCH WAS PUMPING WATER FINE TILL I TOOK THE PUMP OF TO GIVE IT A CLEAN BUT AFTER PUTTING BACK ON IT DOASNT SEEM TO WORK, I TOOK IT OF AGAIN AND TOOK IT TO A CARAVAN SHOP WERE THEY TESTED IT FOR ME AND THE PUMP WORKS FINE, AFTER PUTTING IT ON AGAIN AND GIVING IT A BIT OF A SHAKE STILL NOT DOING NOTHING I WAS WONDERING IF IT WAS THE FUSE THAT HAD BLOWN BUT I AM UNABLE TO FIND THE FUSE BOX FOR THIS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN SOME ONE HELP? THANKS KEITH

Try two checks ;-
can you hear the pump run, if so it may need priming, or maybe the wires are the wrong way round.
Check for power using a meter or any 12v lamp.
if no power the problem may be a broken wire, but not obvious as the insulation may be holding the connector on

Hi Ian, No there is no sound coming from the pump but it was working before i took it of to clean. could it be the fuse? if so do you have any idea were it is as i have looked everywere but cant find a fuse box? Thanks keith

Hi Keith
When you removed the pump, do you just unplug or did disconnect the wiring? What type of pump Whale or Carver. Is it a submerible system? If you have microswitch taps they will make the circuit power to the pump when opened.
The fuse if there is one w,ill be near the distribution panel by an isolationing switch try wardrobe or under seat locker.

hiya again the pump just unpluges and it is a carver the swich board all lights up including the tank pump and the ext pump but no sound this is a new type of system to my old caravan were the fuses are on the switch board itself these are all soft touch buttons with lights on this one. i have looked under the seating area but cant find anything. wish i never took it off now it were working fine till then

Hi Keith
As its a soft touch system and all lights are working, and assuming nothing was electronically damaged when you disconnected the pump, it may have lost itself.
I suggest you disconnect the battery power from the van, then reconnect, check you have no battery back ups, also check you have the code if your van radio/CD requires a code before removing the battery lead.
If this doesn't work, its back to the agent or ring up Carver
