Have since replaced my beloved with an X reg 2.2 and ohh dear its gonna be a problem child drove it home all ok washed and valeted it started her up and sounded like a sherman tank (cat parted company) had that fixed today all good again until i went out this evening climate control playing silly beggers both sides set at Hi and the drivers side gives cooled air and passenger side fine no matter what i do the drivers side gives cold air passenger side ok read manual and reset the servos no joy anyone with any ideas as ive owned it for about 30 hours and its cost me a fortune already. I have just posted this but unable to find it,so here goes again. My Omega 2.5td,has decided to give up on the washer. I'm not sure if it's the pump as I can hear it when applied. Any ideas? Adrian

i think you mean the screen washer. if you can hear the pump then probably a pipe has diconnected. work the washer over dry ground, leave the car for twenty minutes, then drive forward. has water driped onto the ground. should give you an idea where the leak is.

Don't know if anyone can help with this. I was driving my Omega 2.5 V6 Petrol auto '97 on a mototrway at a steady 70ish when suddenly the temp gauge shot up to the stop. Pulled into a service station. checked the engine and the rad pipes were pulsing like large veins. Took the filler cap off carefully and half the water gushed out under great pressure. 2 mechanics have diagnosed as head gaskets gone but have been told that there is another fault which manifests itself as this problem but is far less costly to fix. Kindly stretch your grey matter and give me some hope that it is a cheap fix. Happy new year.

Possibly thermostat sticking can cause the same problem, but this normally happens when its warming up and the stat fails to open.

ref the overheating. if it happened suddenly then chances are it's the thermostat. get it changed. when it's a cracked head/head gasket gone fumes enter the water system which mechanics pick up with a simple chemical test on the header tank. if they've done that and it's come up positive, then that's what it is.

Hi Guys (new to this site) I recently purchased a omega 2.6CD V6 Auto which is a lovely driver, I didn't pay much for it and new being a 2001 plate it would have some issues, the first to pop up was the Fuel Flow Meter needed replacement which has cost me £300 at my locl Vauxhall dealer £76.00 labour charge rip off, they charged me £90.00 just to tell me what it was, Vauxhall also kindly told me that my exhaust was rusty, my rear break pads where down to 20%, I had a oil leak coming from my engine and I had a leak from my Aircon unit, the Omega was now looking like a very expensive car, I have decided to get a service done at a local garage and have asked them to check the above and tell me whether or not I need to do something, if so how much to put it all right, then only yesterday I tried to lock the doors using my keys central locking and the drivers door did not move, all the other doors locked and automatically opened again, meaning the only way to lock this once lovely motor was with the key, has anyone got any ideas as to what would cause this problem with the central locking. Cheers

if your door button is not working could be the motor inside the door which moves the door button up and down at least your button is up I had the same thing when the button was stuck down, these are about £90 each, if you live any where near essex there is a good garage I use for my omega which was recomended a couple of times on this site it is "mastertec" they are in harold hill near romford tel 01708374222 I have used them for many jobs on my car they are ex vauxhall mechanics hope this helps

HiThanks, but for some reason I have tried it this morning and it seems to be working now, which tells me there is a loose connection some place, I will leave it for now. I used to live in Herts and work near to the garage you have mentioned, but decided to try the country (Somerset) instead, great move but one year down the line after changing my life I was made redundant. I will need to get a hold of some good recon parts (do you know any suppliers), I do love the car, best vehicle Vauxhall have ever made. Cheers

hi those door buttons sometimes are intermittent in playing both my front doors did this until they both stuck down but it was the motors in the end, check on ebay loads of spares as well as a manual which is on a cd rom I think there is a breaker of omegas down your neck of the woods theyare on ebay, good luck these cars are worth the effort of getting them running right
