fred - your problems probably not connected. if the seat isn't locating properly when upright you may need to loosen the two fasteners on the reciever and adjust its position. or just push down on the release button as you push the seat home. centre seat belt - lift the rrear seat squab and free it from whatever it's caught on.

I've had the same seat belt problems for a while which started with the nearside needing a push or lever to get the button to return. If I didn't do that I couldn't release the centre seat belt so they definitely are connected. Finally it gave up the ghost and won't lock back nor can I release the centre seat belt. So a visit to the local Vauxhall dealers who quoted close to £300 to fix. I declined and looking further at the mechanics myself realised the spring doesn't seem to be working properly (something the dealer must have clocked as they'd greased it nicely). Next step seemed to be Haynes but I can't see one that covers a 2001 Omega estate. Any ideas? Perhaps a new seat is the answer! As a temporary solution the split seats lock together and the belt will stretch across both but I need to get this sorted. Cheaply.

on the bar inside there is an adjuster they some times can move, have to take door cover off and clean it, to stop this from happening allways put some wd40 in locks stops it from doing it, 2 time a year should do.
