ahh no - i didnt post on that, but now that you've mentioned it. I get horrendous interference on the radio when the rear sunblind is up, I can tell you that much. I posted asking where the antenna for the sat nav unit is, as my car can never locate any satellites to give me any guidance.

Reasonably sure that you can just use the key in driver's door - turn 1/4 turn anticlockwise - you know like in the ol' days!!. That operates the central locking only. You should also be able to disable the interior compartment monitoring by pushing the button in the centre panel immediately after removing key from ignition, and before using keyfob.

try using the spare key. it sounds like the immobiliser isn't receiving the signal from the key.

Hi, In answer to the key problem, if you loose the RFID chip from the key, or the ECU sees the wrong ID, the motor will turn but fail to start. So the problem seems a bit more elementary, such as maybe:- key switch, relays, solenoid starter motor. Sorry I cant be more specific but the Haynes wiring diagram is a devil to read without a lot of concentration. T

Hi, I am new to this forum, but have read many of the messages here with interest.I have just got rid of my M reg Omega 2.0 GLS following a minor prang and have recently purchased a 2.5 v6 1999 CDX model with 84K miles and full service history. I am truely amazed that it seems to drive "as new" it is so quiet and smooth, and not even one squeek or rattle. My only question is that after driving the car and the parking it for a short while I notice that 2 very small amounts of water appear underneath, these are probably near the back of the engine and are in the middle of the car and the distance between the 2 drops of water is about 12 to 14 inches. See below (o=wheel : = the 2 water drops) o-----------o ----------: Front o-----------o I am not really concerned as the water is not from the cooling system (its clear, free from antifreeze) but just curious where it comes from, I can only put it down to the exhaust or air con system.
Cheers Diddy

Hi,I get the same little dribbles of something occasionally, and in the same location by the sounds of it too. A mechanic at Charlie Browns told me that my aircon was the reason for it, and that it was normal the other week when I had my tyres balanced.

Hi DiddyIt's almost certainly from your aircon. I run mine all year long including the winter to de-humidify the cockpit. doug

I would say definitely the air con unit. Have you dipped your finger in the puddle to see if it's water / oil ? My aircon needs re-gassing i guess as the icy cold winds it used to produce are more like a warm breeze now !
How much is this to do ? Does it need specialised tools / equipment ? Will any old car air con servicing chap do ? Cheers

I would think that the re-gassing required specialist knowledge and tools etc. Diddy

DiddyIt's 99% certain to be the aircon then (watch me be proved wrong !). Mine used to do it all the time (when it was on) Cheers

Definately not the aircon, wouldn't cause the expansion tank to empty and engine to run at 100oC+. Have since found a small leaking valve at back of engine, only £100 to get vauxhall to supply and fit new one. Seems ok now. Thanks for u'r comments tho, Taxistew.
