To The Rev, I thought this problem had been well and truly nailed by now,by all those in the know. I had this problem myself a few years back and took a dedicated diesel specialist to find the fault, (plus £400 of my hard earned). Looking back at the problem, one could surmise that the engine and valves and timing etc are all ok because the engine starts from cold ok. The mechanics of the pump must be ok when hot because the engine runs ok no matter how hot it is. That leaves the fly by wire control to be suspect. I took a long while getting here, but the fault is the fuel temperature sensor at fault which is located I think on the fuel filter unit. It costs about £40, and can be bought from Vauxhall or Bosch agents. T.

Hi there. Can anyone help! I've just bought my first Omega Estate - a 2.5TD GLS 95 (M) which i'm delighted with. However, couple of issues - my indicators work only intermittently and i've changed stalk/checked wiring and relay? Any similar probs? Plus, the rear support on the load cover - a small plastic clip-in bit that allows you to take it out to remove the load cover...well it's missing! It's the left-hand one marked L! Anyone know where i'll get one cheap as 30-odd quid at dealer. Thanks, Andy

I run a 2002 Omega CDX Estate Auto 2.2 with LPG. Tinley Tech, Bourne, Cambs were very helpful. Converted myself, they inspected the installation. Used a filled doughnut tank in spare wheel well, 60 litre cpacity, 48 Litre filled. Used Italian Bigas LPG multipoint system. Had early problems due to NO1 cylinder LPG injector siezing after long tickover on M1, apparently Vauxhall ECU shuts down no 3 to compensate, led to burnt catalytic converter. Had to cut, clean and weld up cat since Vauxhall cat on back order 4 months. Car has run well now for 50k miles, averaging 24-29 mpg on LPG. Minor irritation is emission light's sensitivity to different LPG suppliers: BP gas seems the worst. Still at 38-44p per litre can't complain.P.S. do all CDX's have self-levelling suspension? Mine seems low, and I have never heard a compressor running. Thanks.

had a similar problem - no body could find the solution. Nothing on diagnostic machine. After much eletrical tracking I found that it was the earthing point at front of engine. (front nearside behind belt) Several earths connect here including the one to the engine management system! . After removing all earth leads, cleaning and replacing engine started and runs fine.

Noisy B Pillar, Sounds to me like the door catch on the body, this can be adjusted or replaced easily, they do wear, when they do they get a step in them so when the body of the car twists you hear the clicking of the catch over the worn stepin the catch.. Worth a try..Dave C

Low suspension, take a peep under the rear arch at the shockers, if they have a pipe which is approx 3-4 mm thick going on to the side of them, then they atr ride levellers, if not then you ain't got it.. also the compressor for the ride level is undr the front left wing behind the headlight, about the size of a no 4 football...Dave C

I have just purchased a 2.2 CDX auto estate too and the same happened to me. The spanner light comes on when the car is hot and in either Neutral or Park, when waiting in traffic or traffic lights etc. There is no noticeable switch to an emergency running programme and the symbol disappears when the engine is re-started only to re-appear when I stop at the next set of traffic lights. I shall take the suggestion of the crank sensor to the garage and see what happens

MushroomFrom the MPG you state, I guess you own a diesel. What work did you have done to increase the power/MPG at Jeremy's Intercoolers? I've just picked up a cheap Omega diesel estate (only a Select I'm afraid, but it was a bargain and I've been after an Omega for ages and just couldn't wait any longer). I would like to run it on veg oil also. What mods did you have to make to your Omega to run it on rapeseed oil/white spirit?

I had this problem with my car Omega 2.0 Estate, I put the tickover an extra 100 revs, with the tickover adjusting screw, and this has cured it. Alf

Oil change, GM / Vauxhall semi - synthetic is what GM recomend, it's as cheap at the Vauxhall parts dept than anywhere else, DONT USE fully synthetic, "Some metal corossion problems, so I'm well advised!" The Slick, I'm told should be avoided too, though I've always used in previous Fords! Regular oil changes every 4k or abouts should do the trick..Dave C
