For some reason my stereo has stopped working. It was ok when I used the car sunday morning but didn't work sunday afternoon. Then it was ok agin on monday morning but nothing since. I have checked the fuses they seem ok but there is no power or response at all. Seems very strange. Could it need resetting somehow? I dont think there can be much wrong as it stopped then started again then stopped again.

hi . could be a radio internal fault, bad connection at the back. or electrical, think the radio unit runs through the bsi unit. sometimes the electrics go funny at times on mine and have to disconnect the battery. wait . reconnect and it seems to fix it.

Thanks for your reply tony, if I disconnect the battery will that mean I will have to enter the code in the radio? This would not be a problem obviously if I had the code which I dont.

Thanks Tony, I also have the Clarion player and so as mine is a 2001, I think it is probably the same as yours so I will try that. Also that explains why I don't have a code. It says in the handbook that they are coded to the car specifically and will not work in another vehicle so I guess that means there is no need to have a code that you enter. Thanks again, I will let you know what happens. Jim

I disconnected the battery and waited a while then reconnected but that has not worked. I must have a different fault to You BigTony. Any other ideas?

hi. have you checked the fuse? you really need to see if there is power to the radio unit. if so it could be the unit at fault, or some other electrical problem, its a bit tricky without seeing it.

Yes I have checked the fuse, It seems like there is no power getting to it though because it doesn't work in any way no lights come on or anything. It behaves as if it is not connected up. Tried to pull it out to check the connection but peugeot in their wisdom havn't put enough cable on it to pull it out without removing the centre consul. And of course you need a special screwdriver to do that. They really are a bunch of [Log in to view email]
