Hi, I camp with my family every year (been twice already) and would recommend a tent you can stand up in and one with a decent living area, so you can all sit inside if needs be. Especially in this country its worth having the indoor space for wet wellies and for entertaining on rainy evenings when the kids can't get out. I have never found a tent with decent size bedrooms, but remember to allow for airbed/roll space plus somewhere to put your overnight bag. On our tent all the poles are covered so there is nowhere to hang stuff on which is a pain but think thats maybe how they are all made now. Have a wonderful time as its fab!

Hi , has anyone seen the tent and all the camping stuff at Aldi's at the mo ? very reasonable and good prices all with a three year quarantee too , we bought the tent and all the big stuff , only the two of us so going to give it a go , can always buy bigger if we enjoy it ( and our daughter has a big tent if we all go away so plenty of space between the two )

Halfords have a great tent at the moment, says its a 4 man tent, but.....if you're really really skinny, you could get 4 in! Easily take one adult and two kids. Having said that, it has an inner linning and small 'porch' area, great for keeping boots/dirty clothes out of the inner bit, which is zipped at the front and then zipped after the porch bit to the sleeping area. Its very much a sleep and do everything else outside, but it works. My son goes with his dad - I have to stay home with the dogs and daughter, but that is going to change as she now wants to go! - camping and kayaking, its perfect for that as they only want somewhere to sleep and peg the plates outside the tent to wash in the rain/dew....LOL! Daughter is 12 and can put it up with small amount of help from her brother, so its easy to use and stores neatly in a bag that tucks in the corner of a cupboard/car. Good tent for scouting/kayaking/the odd weekend away.

Forgot to say that the tent is waterproof to 4000mm , which a lot of the argos , halfords ones arent , if you go onto ukcampsite.co.uk they do reviews etc and have already reviewed the aldi one ( all good so far ) going to try ours out soon .

I have bought the Halfords one, great, perfect for summer camping it out, although the torches suppled are a bit tiddly, but surprisingly alot of space and you can stand up in the center bit, the air beds didn't deflate, and the sleeping bags kept us suitably warm, for a first time tent it's wicked! and for £100 can't go wrong.

Only thing i would say is to put it up before you go away and then chuck a few buckets of water over the canvas, this activates the waterproofing, thus if it does rain when your away you won't get a soaking!
