We stayed there for 8 days and loved it, spent quite a bit of time down near windermere, went to the Aquarium of the Lakes (a great day out!), the Windermere Air Show, the Cumberland Pencil Museum in Keswick and the Cars & the Stars museum. All in all, we felt that Troutbeck was a nice site, not in the hustle and bustle of town but close enough to most of the touristy sites. Hope that is some help!
