hi i had that injection and it took 10 mths to get pregnant with my eldest, with my second i was on the pill and i stopped taking it, had a period and was pregnant before my next period!! My doc said it can take 12 mths to get the injection out of your system completely so my advice would be to relax and enjoy the practice. lol. good luck, janine

Hay i was just going through the forums and i came across this one. I read you advise and i was wondering if you could help me also. I am in the same position with trying for our second and i have had no luck as yet, the only difference is i wasn't taking the pill and i haven't for a year year and a half and i defiantly haven't had the injections, and I'm still have problems conceiving, my first is nearly two years old now and i had a c section with her and i was wondering if that could affect me. We really would love to have a second but like i said I'm having no luck what so ever and its got to the point know where i feel like I'm letting my husband down by not conceiving, can some one please give me some advise please, thank you Amy

hi if you have been trying for ages i would see your gp. A tip that i was told to try was to put a cushion under my bum for 20 mins after nookie. This stops any thing from falling out and ensures its all heading in the right direction, if you know what i mean!!!!! I did this and got pregnant the first month of trying. this could have been a coincidence though. good luck though!!!!! keep us informed. janine

Hi again Janine, thank you for your advice, i will keep that in mind, i got to admit that that isn't the first time i have heard some one say to try that with the pillow under your bum after nookie's. when i first heard it from my mate i thought she was just taking the p$£%, but since then i have heard it a couple of more times, so i think i will take you up on your advice and give it ago, maybe I'm just getting the timing wrong to. Thank you again, i will keep in touch and let you know how things go. thanks again and speak to you soon. From Amy

Hiya Amy - have you been to the Doctors for a general MOT?! Just to make sure you are a good weight/hormones normal/getting all your vitamins etc? Just thought i'd mention it, as although some people fall pregnant instantly, i know for others its harder - and it can help if you are already treating your body healthily. You could also look in health food shops - some sell vitamin supps. for pre-pregnancies, and dont forget your marmite..folic acid is essential in the early stages. The pillow under the bum does work, i have heard..and make sure your man isnt having too many hot baths etc as this can affect his production of healthy tadpoles! lol
Im sure you've read all this already - but thought it worth mentioning. Also, relax - the calmer you are, the more naturally it will happen. My sister signed up for Indian Head Massages which helped her in many aspects of her life, but also with the same problem as you. :-)

Roxy - i was on the Depo after having my first daughter too (so was a friend of mine) Have to say that it affected us both in the same way - reduced our production of oestrogen so much that we couldnt conceive and I was told that i was startign the menopause and wouldnt be able to have anymore! Needless to say they were wrong..we thought we were ok, couldnt have anymore and along came Amber...!! :-)
Took me a while though, and both myself and my friend have problems with our hormones now.
Might be worth having a hormone test? See if everything is ok, even though you are menstruating.

Hay Roxy
I was just reading your email, do you know something i know where you are coming from, because my self and my husband are really starting to really want a baby know i have never seen so many women that are pregnant until we started to try, and do you know the hardest thing about it is where i work there are three of my friends that are pregnant, i got to admit though my manager has been a god send because she has tryed helping me by giving me easy jobs to do course I'm used to a fast life and doing lots of heavy lifting and things like that. And also giving me tips and self confidence so with my sister-in-law to keep me in check and to slow me down and my manager to give my easy jobs so i can slow down, I'm starting to not give up but to let it happen when it does,
Don't worry Roxy it will happen to you and me one day just not as soon as some people, i know this is probably useless information for you but maybe it might help if you can let people know and to get them involved to help take the strain of things of your shoulders so you can relax a bit so it will happen. Don't worry though it will one day, any way i Betta stop talking and let you go. Good luck :) Amy.

Hi Nobby,
Thank you for your email, no i haven't been to my GP, Ive taken things in to my own hands and started to do things differently with the way i live, i have cut right down on smoking because i know that doesn't help, i have started to take vitamins and minerals and stuff like that. I have also taken some peoples advise with things and slowed my life down completely, even though at times it could be hard because of having a 2 year old daughter who is nearly 3 and a border collie that is yampy, but I'm taking time out with things and ive stopped letting problems getting to me, in fact I'm a completely different person, so know its just a waiting game. Thank you for your help, Sorry did you say if you was trying for a baby? if so good luck. keep in touch. Thank you again Amy.

Aww Roxy - dunno why men whinge so much, its only a sample!!
They should bear in mind how undignified giving birth is..lol
No Amy im not trying for a baby myself, been there and done that! I would have many many children if i didnt have to be pregnant - to me, giving birth is the easy part..i just hate being pregnant. But that is only my experience, please dont let that put you off. For most women its magical!

Men never seem to like the idea of giving a sample thats simple its us women that put up with the cramps when periods are due. Your very lucky roxy aka faye that your boyfriend has stuck by you as when i found out i was pregnant going back years ago my boyfriend at the time left me he was more worried about his mother playing hell with him he's 35 years old now and still lives with his mother. My son is 13 years old next month and his so called father doesn't bother with him. Sorry to of gone on.

Hi every one...just wanted to say that i was on depro vera...or what ever its called...injection lol for about 2 years ... i had my last jab in oct 2006 which is almost 2 years ago and have only just managed to concieve. which we are both over the moon about! i started to think something was wrong with me as my partner already has a child from a previous so i knew nothing was wrong with him. but when i read it can take some time to concieve after being on injection i started to relax and enjoyed the 'practicing' LOL! so i just wanted to let you know that its different for each person, some concieve so easilly and for others it takes longer but it will happen eventually! just relax and try not to stress about it too much, although i know how hard it is! im now 9 weeks gone and its so scarey! but exciting at the same time! good luck! XXX
