i have read problems about central locking closing then opening. my problem is that it deos not work at all. when i bought the car the boot never locked, so i disconnected the motor, now the boot locks. i have checked the wiring on the drivers side, there is 3 damaged wires, one white the other green 3rd cant remember. but only damaged e.g say there is 20 metal wires in white cable, only 10 is broken. Can this 'not fully broken wires' cause it not to work. have checked fuse ok. thanks
This problem has completely confused me now so im wondering if anyone can help. Replaced both my drivers side and passengers side loom about 6 months ago, and everything worked perfectly. Then the other day my central locking started to lock and unlock about 10 times before finally deadlocking. When i push both my electric windows up using the drivers side door switches the car also locks. Took off both doors and inspected the looms and they are fine, still in perfect condition from when i last changed them. So the question is what can the problem be, there must be in cross in the wires somewhere involving the electric window switch, but why does it lock when both windows are being put up and not just one! Crazy i know, if anyone thinks they no the answer it would be much appreciated.
Well thats what my Dad reckoned, but it still doesnt explain the link between the central locking and the drivers side electric window switches. Going to a breakers tomorrow and going to pick up various bits and pieces in an attempt to figure everything out. But i still reckon its the wires somewhere along the line.
After fixing my wire looms 6 months ago i was surprised that about 2 weeks ago my central locking started going loopy again. This time even open closing my electric windows would set the locks off. Final straw was when the car deadlocked whilst i was in it. Remote wouldnt unlock the doors and leaning out the window and unlocking the door with the key still wouldnt realease the deadlock. I had to crawl into the back seat and unplug the central lockign control unit and replug it. Checked my looms again and all seemed intact. Replaced batteries in key fob, no difference. Peugeot quoted me stupidly large figures to check the car out, so i thought id go to the breakers and buy all the parts which could cause my problems. I found a 306 with exactly the same door loom connections as mine in perfect condition so cut off them, took the central locking control unit, the key was in the ignition so took that and also took the cars infared receiver, all for £10! Plugged in the new locking ECU first and programmed in my keys infrared signal and everything worked perfectly. So a faulty central locking ECU was to blame ( not the loms this time) which i have never heard of before! How it caused the window switches and the central locking to be linked i havnt a clue. Locks pop up every now and then but that is because the passenger side door solenoid is sticking occasionally. You can tell this because everytime you lock the car, the door pin on the affected door does not go down, so the ECU forces all locks back up. Back to the scrap yard for that then! This is an extremely useful thread for all peugoet owners, if you have a problem i would suggest reading the thread from the start as i guarantee you problem will be answered! Front passenger lock has seized up permantly now and am in the process of replacong it. Got a spare from the breakers but had a huge job in removing it from the door. Am a bit worried about removing my lock from the door and damaging the rods as i need them still. Anyone replaced a front door lock and could they give me advice on a good way to remove it. Haynes manual makes the process sound very easy which it is not. Your help would be appreciated. Dan
THE ANSWER.... The central lockin module is under the boot floor behind the drivers side rear seat (if u lift the bottom part of the seat and u'll see the wires.) there's 3x 8mm bolts holding this in, remove these and with a little wiggle it'll come out. I tried connecting the yellow/green (a623) with the blue (6293) but it didnt work for me(but its worked for others). I then disconnected that and connected blue(6293) with white(6291).this fixed my problem, all doors and boot lock and open when they should. DONT CUT THE WIRES, JUST CONNECT THEM TOGHETHER WITH 1 SCOTCH-LOCK. it's so simple to do. This was not my idea, i got it from this site, so I cant take any credit for it, but it does work. hope it works for u.
My W reg (year 2000) 306 estate passenger side rear door is locked and will not unlock. I have tried removing the fuse to central locking, removed door trim (what a pain with the door closed) and checked the movement of the rods. Both rods work but the door stays locked. Checked the wiring looms on both front doors, no breaks that I can find. I think it might be the solonoid in the door but cannot see how it is fixed in. I was thinking of cutting the wires inside the door and connecting a battery to the wires, to try to jump the solonoid into action? Also where is the central locking switch box located inside an estate? Does anybody have any suggestions?
i cnt even leave my car by its self
