Claire: can't help you with your fuse problem but can help you with boot lock there is a cam type piece of plastic that is attached to the boot locking solinoid via a metal hook you have to take the cover off the boot door and remove the metal bar from the solinoid and twist the cam that the metal bar goes onto at the actual lock mechanisim this allows the boot lock to be used as a normal lock that you can use the key to both lock and open the boot. P.S you have to remove the 2 screws holding the solinoid in place first to allow you to twist the solinoid enough to get the bar off

Hi,
I have a similar problem with my 306 central locking. The locks were all locking and unlocking when I pressed the remote button. After removing all of the door trims and disconecting the wiring plugs one by one, I found that with the front N/S solenoid disconnected, the cental locking works fine. The one I disconnected seems to be faulty.
The problem i am having is trying to find another solenoid with the same wiring. I have had 3 from various breakers and none of them work (the wiring plugs on them all seem to be wired differently). I am trying to find a solenoid for a Mark 1 (P reg 1996) 306 Genoa. The solenoid is grey in colour and has 6 out of the possible 10 connections on the wiring plug connected.
All of the others that I have bought from various 306 models of the same year are white and have 8 out of the 10 contacts on them.
If anyone has a spare one lying around or has a way of wiring the replacement one I have into my existing wiring plug, I would be grateful

I have just bought a D-Turbo 306 on an M plate.

The only lock that works is the boot. Can somebody help me.

The car has two keys: One is a remote style keyfob which fits both the driver and the passenger door, but neither unlock via key or remote (looking at the system 2mrw, but any clues as to possible faults much loved!)

The other key is a standard Peugoet key, and not a keyfob type: This key fits the boot and the ignition.

Is this right, or should one do all? Also, could someone tell me if the boot is supposed to be part of the central locking system on the 306?

Hi Hue,

I was interested in your reference to resetting the immobilizer (I have an imobiliser prob - car refusing to start sometimes). Did actually reset this? and how did you do it?

Cheers

Marcus

Someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please can someone help me, i have the same locking probs as everyone else with all this auto unlocking carry on and the locks jumping back open. My car woul not lock last night and sometimes if i try loads of time it locks, so eventually i got it to lock and i went out this morning and for the first time ever it would not unlock!!!!!!!! I'm locked out my car, i tried and tried, the key turns and the button even moves a bit but wouldn't open. My boyfriend managed to get the passenger one to open somehow but none of the rest will open at all. I had to climb in over passenger side and the doors won't even open from inside??? I really need my car and can't afford to spend any money. Does anyone have any ideas? what about fuses, if i take the central locking fuse out do you think i might be able to open the doors? what is the c/l fuse? it's anL reg 306 XRTD
Any help VERY gratefully recieved!!
Lia

Hi, anyone who is having problems with the 'auto-unlock', and jumping wires:

Forget about jumping wires between the BLUE and YELLOW&GREEN wires, and the WHITE and YELLOW&GREEN wires. The Yellow and Green wire is supposed to be an earth wire, but it only ever reaches an earthing point further along the harness. Save any hassle, and ground BLUE and WHITE wires directly to the bodywork.

Less chance of screwing up over a simple break in the earth wire.

Hi,
If the lock won't open from the inside using the handle, then it sounds like the central locking solenoid on that door has jammed. If you press the remote on your key, do any of the lock buttons insde the car move? which ones? can you move the lock buttons manually?
THere are lots of potential faults with 306 doors - Bad wiring between the door and car or the car and control unit .

if it is a jammed solenoid then it is relatively easy to replace. It is just a pain having to take all of the door trim off. They are about £10-£15 from a scrap yard.
Scott.

Thanks for the reply Scott,

I don't have a remote key, i can only use the locks. I have since been able to get the drivers door open, my boyfriend forced the key and the doo is open but the back two doors are still jammed shut. I can move the buttons but they won't open. I'm too scared to lock the front ones again incase they do the same.
I tried taking out the central locking fuse but no joy. So any more ideas would be really helpful

Thanks, Lia

Hi,

Am starting to think us girlies shouldn't own these 306's!!!!
Haha, am also havin central lockin probs, am having a new loom fitted as we speak so fingers crossed! My prob is that it is an xtdt, and has a immobiliser, which must have a time delay, if you start it up again within 5 mins or so, then you don't have to re-enter the code and off ya go! However you cannot do this 3 times as it won't start!! It has to be left for approx 10 mins to re-set. Any advice ? x

im having the same old locking/unlocking mind of its own problem on my 306. Ive read the posts, and can someone confirm if they think its the drivers side solenoid?

reason i think this..is when im inside the car, and press the button down on drivers side, central locking does nothing...press it down on passenger door..freaky locking/unlocking happens.

If i use the key on the drivers door, locks/unlocks again. Does it appear that its actually stuck in the 'door open' position on this door?

cheers

i tried re-wiring the wires in the drivers side door and it works perfectly now! it was qiute tricky and u need to take the door off but now it works!there was several wires completely eaten through i joined them back together and now it works. if your locking is dodgy definately try this first. just cut the black rubber round the wires off in between the door and the car and you will robably find that the wires are totally nackered

Depends how small your fingers are i reckon! Just makes things easier taking the door off - i suppose it would depend where the breaks in the wires are too..

you probably could do it with the door on but its much easier to take it off and thanks to peugoets great design that caused the problem in the 1st place its only 6 bolts to take the door off!!ironic really!

I've been reading the forum on problems with 306 remotes. My remote stopped working so I replaced the batteries. They only lasted a few days. I've replaced them again and it only lasted 2 days this time. The red light doesn't come on when you press the button, so it looks as though the batteries have been drained or the circuittry isn't working. Anyone else have this problem? Or where can I buy a new remote that doesn't cost the earth? Help please.

You can sometimes find the remote keys available on ebay. I am sure you can reprogram them for your car but I am not sure how.
Best thing would be to take the ciruit board out and swap it for the broken one so you still have the same key.

Otherwise it is £70 from you dealer.

An auto elecrtics garage or an electronics repair shop may be able to repair it for you.
