Rover 820 clutch judder.

I own a P reg 820 si with manual G/box and for a while now have been experiencing judder from time to time when moving away from standing or low speed in 1st & 2nd gears. I can control this by adjusting revs accordingly. The clutch does not slip and the car drives fine through other speed ranges. The car has done 114k and as far as I know still has the original clutch assembly fitted. As I use the car for towing I am considering replacing the clutch assembly but am unsure wether or not I can do the replacement in situ or not. I have the Haynes manual but this as far as I can see only discusses clutch replacement with the Engine & Transmission removed from the car. I would be very grateful for any advice on this and of course any Tips or expected problems. . Many thanks . jontee

It will most likely be the diaphram part of the clutch at fault but anything less than a full clutch kit is false economy in this case. Not too bad a job on todays standards really. ___________________ THERE'S NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT !
