Hiya, i would really like to get away somewhere and after a bad experience with leaving my dogs with a doggy sitter last year, would like to take them with me. I've never been camping before but read about it on this forum and think its a great idea! Any tips on what i'd need and rough costs for a long wkend/per night? I've looked up a few websites but dont understand their price pages, i get confused! lol
I'd really like to go to somewhere in Cornwall, but just want a quiet simple place which will be suitable for the family and dogs, and be nice and cheap! lol

Hi Nobby , having just scrapped our caravan , we have bought a small tent and will take the boys away soon , most basic sites from now on will be anything from £12/20 + a night i'm afraid , go into the caravan and camping club site for some info , wer'e not sure about where to go either , but don't think we are going to venture far this year ( havn't even put the tent up yet ? ) go to dogfriendlybritain.co.uk for more doggy info and come and say hi on the forum (:

Ah thanks RTT! Just had our Sun Holiday thingy come through the post today. The place we went to last year accepted dogs but we didnt take them. Think we are going to try to get the same place this year and possibly take the dogs this time. Might put off the camping til next year as we dont even have a tent yet - which is helpful if you are going camping! lol

hi we are collecting tokens for sun break . have emailed sun to see if any sites accept dogs but no response. which site did you take your dog to and do you know if any of the others accept them. we live in kent and looking to go within 2 hours travel. cheers marianne

Wait till you have the list of sites , then you just get in touch to see if they accept dogs , will generally cost though so doesnt really make it a cheap hol in the end ! go to dogfriendlybritain.co.uk for dog friendly hols , pubs , whats on etc infact everything doggy . you will often struggle to get a site near where you want to go as well , we went to new romney last sept ( romney sands ) right opposite the beach ( we didn't take our dogs that time , but sure they do have some dog friendly caravans onsite ) great chinese just down the road and lots of food pubs around , plus the miniture railway has a station on the site too .

Hi were going to hedley wood this year in bude. ( as recommended by julie on the bullies forum) It looks fantastic surrounded by woods. There is a shop and pub on site and they are very dog friendly. There is also kennels on the site where they charge £3 a day to look after your dog if you want to go somewhere you cant take them. It has cost approx £200 for 8 days camping in august. so cheap compared to most
