Blue water tank. Help please re water leaking at top at pump.

I have the blue wheeled water tank.
Today I discovered that water has been leaking out the top of the tank where the pump is located. This seems to be happening whenever I turn on a tap.
It looks like the pump draws up the water and some of it leaks out around the red pump cap (quite a bit of water).
Has anyone had this problem in the past and also do you know if there should be a seal or gasket around the pump cap. If so, I do not have one and would like some help in sourcing one.
Thanks for any help.
Much appreciated.

is your van a burstner, with a reich pump in the blue barrel, if so yes there should be a large seal inside the red cap, if its not there water will come out when u are travelling, do you have the spare filling cap i.e the one u use when u go to refill the barrel, if u have it is there not a seal in that one.

Keith, It is a Hobby exclusive 560 2000. It has a blue (wheeled) water tank under seating on left as you enter van.
Tank is either filled manually from inside the van (under seating in lounge) by removal of a large red cap on tank or the whole tank is removed from caravan for filling via external opening in wall of van.
I don’t know the make of the pump. Pump is accessed from the outside opening which is also used to remove blue water tank from holding unit.
It makes sense that a seal or gasket is missing from inside the red cap. I do not have a spare cap to check re seal but have been advised Ambergate may be able to supply one.
Meantime I am carrying water into the van in the kettle as I need it but find it a nuisance having no water supply in the van.
Thanks for your response.

It sounds very much like the burstner set up, the pipe goes through a hole in the red cap into the barrel, the pump is on the end of the pipe.
You have to unscrew the red cap & lift it off the pipe & pump lifts uot with it, you then pull the barrel out of the side of the van, fit the other red cap that normally sits on a blank raised plinth on top of the barrel to go and get more water, as i said if you have the second cap u can remove the seal & fit it to the other cap.
However i doubt if a missing seal would cause a leak just when the tap is running, u need to run the pump whilst taking a look at the tank to see if it is leaking then.
If it is there could be a bad connection or a split pipe, which will need repair, if it isnt leaking then, then it could be as i said, its leaking whilst travelling, in which case just empty the barrel whilst travelling, job done.
