Well they seemed ok with it and it was not as bad as I was expecting... If mia had not done all that damage to hers I think I would have left them intact but hey if it saves them suffering later like she did!!

know wher your coming from.... Should of seen me in the vets with the puppies... In there plastic box my clutching the box on my lap.... put their box on a bench wher other people/animals had been NO WAY!!!!! Children asking what was in the box got told puppies and glared at.... Paranoid or what!!!!!!
They told me it was my fault mia obviously had them alone and ate them!!!!! i know that dogs can do this but what a nasty thing to say. AAAAAHHHHHHHH I was with my little girl every minute since her temp dropped (ok so I had the odd toilet break when I absolutely had to) When I informed them this, then she had obviously had them outside when I took her out whilst in whelp and I should check my garden for puppies..... I again told them I followed her out wth a torch shining at her back end while she relieved herself in case a pup did pop out. According to them boxers never have such small litter and they have been speaking to people and everyone agrees with them Mia must have had more and I was not there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that we had lost the girl... All my fault obviously!!! I was so happy when my girl had her 3 puppies and she was ok after the tough time she had, the apparant lack of puppies was never a concern of mine, I was relieved when the vet told me there were no more to come if I am honest after the length of time it took poor Mia to give birth to the 3. I am trying my best and giving it my all throughout Mia's pregnancy and whelping.. Feel really let down and hurt! Sorry I have vented and calmed down a little now ;0)

You know I even felt obliged to check my garden which I have. Under big plants, in Mias run. In my boys sandpit... (Don't know how a pup would have been born in there as the lid is bungee'd on but thought better to be safe)...

I think you are onto something there... They still advertise him as having between 7 & 8 in every litter!!!! But you are right i would not go back to them again. I had a look at your website and your dogs are beautiful!! (Marbelton too!!!) I would really like to start to show boxers but really do not have the faintest idea where to begin. I have just sent cheque off to join Midland Boxer Club which I was advised to do... Any tips at all would be appreciated!
Yes they made horrible comments, but you should have told them to check this thread - its OBVIOUS you were there every second, you documented EVERYTHING here!! lol You did your best with the little one which passed away, and that is none of their business either. Obviously, they are only in this breeding thing for the money! They really dont have a clue. There is never any steadfast amount of pups which any breed will have - always approx! Take no notice. Yeah I understand that about the stud dog, his ability I never quetioned... his other litters have been between 7 & 8 pups just not Mia's. Hence the stud owners attitude about Mia having more than she did. I believe its the same as us that the dog determines the sex? and the bitch determines number of pups. Obviously sperm count plays a part too.... I also read that you are likely to have more in a litter if they mate and tie more than once in a season? I presume that this is because the bitch ovulates more than once in her season and increases your chances of more being fertilised? I have just sent my cheque off to join Midland boxer club. So will have to go and have a peek to see what goes on in shows. Then I can hunt for a pup to show... Sorry to sound dense but can I actually take ring craft lessons?
