hi there, i have a 1.4 astra on a n reg the car starts fine, but when i try to drive of from a stand still the car borks out on me, it also lacks power if you could help me i would be much greatful

Is the engine lumpy or rough when pulling away?
When was it last serviced ?

yeh it is lumpy n rough when pulling away its hezatates thn once your driving it lacks power about a year ago last service

put 2ltr 16v in it and it will be fine mate...........

Change spark plugs and leads.

Hie mate,
I have the same problem with my 1.4 astra.
I have changed plugs, HT leads and even the injectors but still it have a misfire.
But when you are on a stretch is does suddenly have power and you hardly can feel the misfire.
Any help gents

buy a decat pipe might clear it.

ive sorted the prob out nw it slipped a tooth on the timing belt the guy has sorted it out for me now thax for the help
