clarion radio does not match wiring in 98 Mk 1 xantia

I've been in the back of it and the wiring connections do not match the newer clarion unit - steering control connection does not plug in because it's so different. My Sony cd player from my other car works fine but has no steering control connection. Has anyone come across a harness for sale that solves the problem? - I have searched high and low but with no success. Wondered if it was worth looking for a MKII Xantia in a scrap yard and cutting off the connections then altering the ones in my xantia? Your thoughts on the subject would be gratefully received Thanks
