Problems with a powermax 155 boiler

I have a non sealed Powermax 155 boiler and its started to make a whistling noise fairly quiet at first for around 5 mins but gets quite loud when the unit has been on about 10 minutes, it still provides hot water and heats the rads its just become annoying. It was serviced about 18 months ago and everything has been fine until about 10 weeks ago. I have been told it may be the gas and air mix in the gas valve and it can be adjusted but I have no idea if thats true or not Anyone got any ideas?
