When the srs lamp comes on this is indicating a problem within the srs system , there can be many reasons for this to happen from wiring faults to the actual airbag itself .

My advise would be to get it into your local dealer , there they can plug their diagnostic computer into the vehicle and read the stored faults from the srs control unit , from that a correct diagnosis can be gained .

The srs warning light being on poses no real safety issue as such , people think that when a srs light comes on that it may go off without warning however this is the exact opposite of what happens , if you are involved in an accident the airbags will not deploy if the lights are on .

One word of warning on this subject , dont be tempted to try and fix this fault yourself from someone elses advise , srs system are highly dangerous and have the potential to kill , ive seen on this website many times where people have been advised to pull off connectors under seats and clean them thereselves , for your own safety please leave this job to the pros.
