Sorry to bring this up again but I am still confused over the legal width of the Hobby's.
We are thinking of buying a Prestige 560 2004 that is 7ft 6in wide single axle. I know the legal width is 230cm but can we get away with another inch?
Is it legal?
If not is it just the caravan insurance that is invalid or would it also be our Mitsubishi L200 insurance that is invalid as well???
many thanks for any info it is greatly appreciated

There is a petition on Prime Ministers petitions and this is one which relates to you. ( 230cms is actually 7' 6 1/2" so I think that it would be a "Jobsworth" Copper if you were nicked) This actually the petition pasted here;

the current maximum towing width of a vehicle with a MGVW less than 3500kg is 2.3 metres (7ft 6inch) regardless if the vehicle is well within its maximum towing capacity. wider trailers or caravans of such can easily towed safely with the aid of "wing mirror" extenders. the maximum width can safely extended to include trailers upto a max width the same as vehicles with MGVW over 3500kg and over (2.55m or 8 ft 3 inches
