Are you sure its the imobiliser?
I have a 1997 rover sdi. it wouldn't start and gave all the symptoms of engine imobliization.

it turned out to be a dodgy spade connection , the one that sits on top of the starter motor as you look in the engine bay.
its worth a try but just ensure the connection is sound before anythjing else.

if its not that well at least i tried !

regards

djb

If the battery has been replaced then you will have to re-enter the eka code to get it running again. A lot of people say it does not work for them. I have also had probs. Just make sure you do it as per the book & it will work.

try this--
disconnect battery-turn on ignition key-
reconnect battery-and start.
