I have had my car for about 3 months now and during the first month it drove great no problems atall.then I took it about 300 miles to eastbourne and it start playing up.went to pull off from a set of traffic light and wouldnt go to start with then it shot off.it also stutters when engine running but not moving.it has been in a garage for 2 months, ecu unit checked electrican checked it for faults nothing came back.sensors all checked,coil changed,It doesnt do it all the time but is very unsafe to drive.If anyone has any other surgestions then please let me know would be very greatful.

try engine coolant temp sensor can cause this prob cos it confuses ecu if not workin properly

You need to have the ecu read for fault codes. It could be that you have a break in one of the wires to a sensor, so you need to do a jiggle test from each sensor to the ecu. Try leaving the ecu disconnected for an hour *don't do this if you dont have a locking/immobiliser keyfob & don't have the eka code). If the fault is cleared then great. If it comes back have the ecu read & it will tell you what circuit/sensor to test. Replace the temp sender & the rotor arm anyway as they are the most common faults with the rover.
