Do you love animals? Do you genuinely care about their welfare? Because if you answer yes to both then why is it your so keen on upsetting natural ecosystem, supporting an illegal pet trading buisness and howcome you can't be happy with options already available?
Maybe I'm the only one who sees it this way, if so forgive me. I just thought we were trying to conserve animals on the threatend/endangered list but apparently not if all the time I'm seeing ads for animals that I can't believe are legally in this country at all never mind kept as pets - such as sugar gliders and gambian pouch rats?

yes i do love animals and care about their welfare. i always make sure my fur babies are well for wether it be monkey or mouse and im not going down this road again because i loved that little guy and id do anything to have him back . it is legal to own marmosets here. my kenzo was bred in captivity by lovely people and i do not regret buying him if i had to make the choice of wether to have kenzo or not again i would say yes everytime because he was my world.
i appreciate your opinion though

I think owning animals like that take a lot of care and research, understanding exactly what they will need and how much time/energy/cost it will use in owning such an animal. I respect Kitty coz i know that she did all of the above before getting Kenzo and it was unfortunate that he passed away so quickly. I also know that there are registered breeders of this type of monkey in the uk so it is not upsetting any eco system, nor encouraging illegal pet trading. In fact we all chase up a lot of the scams for pups on the classifieds (not here though coz they are banned!) and alot of the illegal pet trade is for parrots etc rather than exotic pets.
I personally wouldnt have the time nor the energy to own a monkey myself, but i do know that kitty did her best with hers. :-)

thanks nobby i did =] and yeh we thought it would be hard to find one but once you avoud all the scams offering to ship an animal (which id never put them through) then kenzo just kinda popped out lol. craig actually contacted me after i had my name on a waiting list with some place and it was sooo quick too only a couple of months. waiting was the hard part lol... when he came everything i heard about them being hard work ect went right out the window coz he just slotted into my life lol first few weeks were wierd coz it was like woah im holding a monkey in my living room lol i was so shocked my mum said yes i seens this is her ouse and she hates mess he weed where he was stood and would aim his little pieces out the cage to wee in mums face when she lay on the couch lol ha ha too funny.. although i said theyre not hard work a moment ago.. well thats like sayin somethin and 8th the size with 8times as much energy as a puppy isnt hard work and we all know pups are hard work lol what i meant is i didnt mind the hard work it became part of an everyday routine like feeding the dogs becomes part of the routine. i would never recommend one without heaps of research. they dont make a good pet for everyone because you have to enjoy every minute of it not just the good bits lol an you really do gotta see the funny side of things too. luckily for me he made a great pet.....hmmm maybe thats coz i like a challenge he he

HaHa thats so funny about your mum on the sofa! We went to a zoo once and a little monkey stuck his willy through the bars and wee'd on my mum too - perfectly aimed! Just reminded me and gave me a good chuckle - thanks Kitty!! lol

Hi there!
Well not only have i got 4 children - who sometimes behave like animals!! i've got...
A springer spaniel called Mick (i brought him with that name!)
1 horse called Troy, who's a 16.2 chestnut gelding
2 Ponies, One newforest youngster who's 13.2 called Robbie (after Robbie Williams!) and Tegan, who is a Welsh sec A, 11.2 roan pony
I've also got a Foal on the way from a mare (who's my sister in laws) called Tia Maria, who's Hannavarian cross dutch warmblood, which is due in 5 months ish!
2 Corn snakes, i think they're male and female but i really couldn't tell you!! They're called Hudeenie and fred!
4 Bearded dragons, 3 females - Izzy, Lizzy and Red, and 1 male called mainly names i can't put in writing!!! (if he's not biting, we call him Tom!!)
My female (Red) is expecting her 1st Clutch of eggs any day now too.. so we'll soon have a bigger family of Beardies!!
I woulds add the crickets, locus and wax worms, not forgetting the mice!! But they're all used for food.. so we don't name them - don't like to get too attached!!!!
Obviously after fedding all the animals (including kids!!) We're broke!!!! any donations please send to...... Just kidding!

haha yeh wierd thing is he only did it to my mum lol. he has weed on other people but never ready! aim ! fire ! kinda thing lol. and lol a big monkey or tiny monkey? i think mum should just find herself lucky it wasnt a chimp peeing on her lol

It was only a little one, cant remember what they are called - the tiny ginger ones? Might be a marmoset..

ginger?? was it a golden lion tamarin?? very rare.. id love to see one only saw them on tv but yeh theyre tiny and ginger lol

Hiya Kitty - yes thats the monkey!! Saw it at the local wildlife park. Pee'd over her once and now she wont go near the cage again. Ive never seen them do it to anyone else and we go there all the time. lol
