I would like to rehome a bird

I live in the Chester area and I would like to rehome a bird such as a cockatiel or similar size. I am new to keeping birds but I'm very much an animal lover and I'm sure that I would be able to provide a patient and loving home for any bird in need. I would also like to know about other cockatiel owners and the day to day routine they have with their pet birds so that I can make sure I'm not stressing the bird out. I know what to feed a cockatiel, but less about how much and how often, and at what time certain things should happen i.e. letting him/her out to explore the environment a.k.a my room.

Anyone with good advice and information please feel free to leave a comment!
