last night my daughter had a sleep over i went in to my girls bedroom to take them pizza in for them i find them both smokeing a joint i hit the roof my daughter said most of her school friends smoke weed i feel so let down by her iam going over to see my daughters friends mum and dad over this as iam at my wits end now

Hi you must be devastated!! Try to be calm with her though. If you push too hard she may just rebel and do it more and thats the last thing you or her need. Try to get her some info of the net or from the docs explaining the risks to her health both for the weed and the fags. Explain how disappointed you are and you may trigger her concience enough to make her stop. Try to be careful to not come across as though you are shouting orders, I know every time my mom did that i would just do it all the more to wind her up!! Delightful teenager that i was!! Try not to panic too much (easier sed than done i know) I also know the disappointment you feel after catchign my daughter out at somethign the other day. Like Janine sed, arm yourself with websites/information etc - the long term damage, the short term damage,the cost, the stuff which gets mixed into it to make it addictive etc etc. At the end of the day, as hard as it is, you have to trust their judgement as they are now young adults and even if you come down heavy, they will rebel (i did!) Arm yourself with all the information you can find, encourage them to be a leader rather than a follower (all the other kids do it, is no excuse!) and hopefully she will take on what you've offered her and make a wise decision for herself.
Please bear in mind it may be a one off, most kids will try most things.x

please lisa STOP her now,my son smokes that *!#%!@,and he gone to far,i never got in his way cos i thought e will learn and the phase will pass but it hasnt,he gets to a stage where e smashes the house up if e not got any and the last few days i have noticed e lost weight now think e is in harder stuff,i cant life with this at the mo it is tearing me apart.i was even to scared to walk in his room yesterday cos i thought i would find him dead so pleaes stop her now before its to late,you need to find out who is giveing it to her and report them to the police

Oh dear i can understand your angry as i would hit the roof if i ever catch my son smoking stuff. How old is your daughter? I have friends that smoke joints and half the time they are that monged out i cant even have a conversation with them. Peer pressure is alot to do with it ,but people are stronger by saying NO. Not jumping the gun but smoking all sorts could end up with trying or taking drugs.I recently lost a good friend a few months ago through doing all sorts of drugs because his mates kept giving him different things because they were taking them. Sorry to of gone on but thats the world we are living in these days.

thank you to all of you my other half hubby and me turned over her bedroom room on satday and we find 4 cans of gas under her bed and a bit more weed ash and some white powder on ala foil with burn marks on it shes been getting all the drugs off a guy who lives near by and some of her school mates shes been paying for it by shop lifting up town in the west end so this monday we both going to take her to the doctors we have also told the police about the guy selling it to the other kids around here its turned out shes been bunking off school on and off for the last year too

I think the guy needs locking up for selling stuff to kids that are in school. As for the shoplifting that she has been doing then she is slowly getting addicted to the stuff she is using. Shoplifting is an offence and not a game she must realise that she can get sentenced for months if she is to carry on. Sorry to of gone on but i really do hope your daughter sees sense sooner rather than later. Keep us posted.

Oooh that makes it a lot worse than just finding them smoking weed - and the white powder is NOT good. Also, people die from inhaling cans - i wonder if she is past the stage of offering some good advice? Maybe worth taking her up to the police station for a strict talking to as well, she has been shoplifting after all. Its disgusting that people sell this stuff to kids, i live in fear about my daughter starting all of this. The only plus side is that we know people who are drug addicts and she sees the long-term effects of drug use. I know of kids of dealers who then sell to the other kids AT SCHOOL! Luckily my daughter thinks they are morons! lol I sympathise with you, hope you get this sorted coz its a fast spiral downwards when the drugs take hold.. :-(

hi lisa,i just mentioned this to my son and the shock on his face has changed my mind about him on other stuff,plus e has been staying in and eating me out off home again so thats a good sign that e not taking it,at the age of 21 i cant really tell him wat to do anymore but im so reliefed e that e not on it,the smoke dont really bother me cos e has told me y e smokes it and i am partly to blame,i sent him to a speacial needs school after fighting it 4 2 years then it was out my hands so not having a job or the convidence to get 1 is what is makeing him feel low,just wish e would believe that im here 4 him 4 ever but e needs to relise a need a life to,anyone it must of been awfull 4 you to find all that stuff in your girls room,if my son cant answer any thing you need to no then im sure e would be happy to tell you.thinking of you all xx

thanks all just letting you know she had blood test done and shes been takeing a number of drugs for a few years now whick makes me feel like a *!#%!@ morther the police have given her a good talking to and ive not let my other half know yet but shes been nicking cash on my visa and mastercards i know owe them over 3000 pounds i feel like killing her if the drugs dont get her 1st also i think not relly sure yet shes been selling her body to get cash our doctor is going to try to sort out a place on a drugs unit for her by firday of this week

Oh how terrible for you! Firstly, dont blame yourself -kids are very good at hiding these things. Its disappointing i know, think you should discuss the money owed to your other half now though coz this could cause problems further down the line if it seems as though you are still protecting her and covering her tracks..You and he really need to work together on this one, and to be honest, your daughter really needs to want to stop herself before she will. How old is she? Lets hope the older people who've been selling it to her/are possible clients of hers, will get their just desserts and get their wicked a*ses locked away for a looong time! Poor You.

shes 14 years old i will tell my hubby in a day or so whats makeing us think shes been selling her body is the police officer who saw us said hes had to stop on a number of times to talk to her as she been around a red light area near where we live

Hi Lisa, I hope you can help your daughter before anything else happens. I wasn't the best teen but my brother was worse. He sniffed, smoked dope ended up in a secure unit at about 14, saw other kids in the same and worse situation, so was dealing with suicide and much more. He came through eventually, and is now a dad and happily married, with a good job and morgage. Good luck to you and your daughter tell her dad about the money, she needs to know that you are not on her side to lie and cover up for her and he needs to know that you are telling him everything, don't be piggy in the middle. She needs you to support her even if she don't know it yet. Very best of luck.

dora yes your right not been getting a lot of sleep my daughters friends mum hit the roof like us it turns out they both been selling there bodys to get cash for drugs my hubby gave our girl a spanking over it all all hell broke out here all shes got in her bedroom now is a bed so she cant hide any drugs till we get some help shes turned right upside down i dont know her anymore shes keeps sweeting and then going cold then hot swearing and so on we let her join the rest of us looking at tv and eatting but last night she lost it and went smashing bits up in the front room anyway we got her to stop in the end and got her to go to her room shes on a few pills to help her with comeing off the drugs till we can get help our gp wants to see her on monday so asked me to get some weed for her or a can of gas but i said no way as for her friend her mum is doing the same as us and trying to help our daughters get over this they both had to have a aids test and be checked out for std,s we just waitting for the aids test to come back on monday my daughters friends mum said her daughter had been messing her panties over the last few weeks sometimes and wetting her bed the odd night she talked to her over it but said shes was being picked on at school anyway thank you to all of you i keep you posted

Oh blimey, that sounds horrific - poor girl must be feeling it now! Sounds as though she was well and truly addicted though, have you taken her to doctors to see if there is anything she can get to ease the withdrawl symptoms? Thank goodness this happened during the school holidays, at least you can monitor her whilst her body comes off it - but what about when they go back to school? I know my daughter found a packet of white powder in their school toilets, and other kids deal regularly there. Its so frightening how readily available this stuff is to our children. I really feel for you as a parent.x

hi there. im only 18. i smoke weed myself sometimes and would never ever dream of doing anything more, i smoke it occasionaly to relax and socialise. i have a good job, a nice car and lots of friends, im sorry to hear about your daughter, it does sound like shes being dragged under with the peer pressure from her friends. maybe shes got in with the wrong crowd and is scared of not fitting in, so she does these things to ... hmm.. impress them, if u like. it sounds drastic, but, tell her, if you find evindence of drug abuse again, u will take her to the poilce station. it sounds harsh and u probly wont want to do it, but if it makes her see sense, then it must be worth a shot. can i just ask, how old is she? i first tried weed when i was 16. it was horrible!! i didnt smoke it again until i was nearly 18. im not addicted, i can go weeks without it, but i do enjoy smoking it. its hard for people to understand, but its like people who like to sit and have a glass of wine in the evening, well i dont drink, and i suppose its my way of chilling out. but if its more then just cannabis she taking then u must act quickly before it gets out of hand. screaming and shouting at her will get u no where though, she will just rebel even more.

well just a bit of a update she was going up the walls last night and and she got out the house we reported it to the police who was a great help they took me about in the car looking for her 3 hours later we sported her in the red light area getting out of a car the police got her and turned out her jacket which had a bag of drugs in it and 80 pounds cash they nicked her and took us back to the the police station they have held her in custody over night and have done her for haveing drugs and working the streets they have taken her dna fingerprints and pic and then find out her fingerprints are on record of a nicked car also shes in court today i hope they send her away so she can get help as shes makeing my life a liveing hell right now i know this sounds hard of me i do love her and just want my loveing careing daughter back the way she was befor the drugs got a hold of her the police are going to ask the court if the can send her to a hospital to be kept under lock and key as the police officer said he dont want her to be sent inside as they over run with drugs and he will do all he can to get her sent to the mental hospital services as for my hubby all he wanted to do is have a row with me as soon as i got home and now hes wanting me to go a bed now and make love with him so much for my feelings right now i better get up to bed befor he blows hes top and get it over and done with and try to get a hour or so sleep befor getting myself down the court for 11 am i let you lot know what goes on later today thank you all

I hope that at the hearing this morning, your daughter can get the help she needs and you the rest. I will have my fingers crossed for you. She is lucky to have you care so much, even if she doesn't know it, hang in there.
