I have an L reg Corsa with a mis-fire and lack of power problem which I believe may be related to the airflow mass meter. I am having trouble locating this and wonder if the L reg model has one fitted. The problem is an occasional orange engine management light comes on and goes off after a few minutes and the engine lacks pulling power going up hill but revs freely when stationary. I have looked between the air filter and throttle housing for the meter but I am unable to locate it.

What engine is in it only the 16v had it at this age that I can remember as the other engines had a map sensor instead.
If the management light is coming on you would be quicker and easier getting it read with the diagnostic tool and check for fault codes.
If it's a 1.2 or 1.4 8v then it's got the map sensor.

Thanks LB for replying. It is a 1.2 engine and I suspect it does not have the meter fitted. Am I right in assuming that the MAP sensor does a similar function? I did have diagnostics on the vehicle and it showed the EGR valve running lean. However, I changed it and it did not make any difference although it still showed as a fault code on the diagnostic equipment referring to the EGR valve. I have been out in the car today and it struggles with acceleration and hills. Thanks, I will look into it further.

Yeah, the map sensor does much the same thing as an airflow meter but in a different way.
In my opinion it's a far more reliable component that an airflow meter but not quite as accurate.
EGR running lean ??? not quite not sure what you mean by that.
The valve cant really run lean a such it's either open or closed to a certain degree depending on the signal sent to it by the ecu.
Also it shouldnt be open at idle it's when the throttle is open or on overrun that it will be operative.
