Hello Every one.
I've had a few problems with the water in my ABI Ace Viceroy. This time the hot water stopped working, the red light comes on with the green. When I switch on the water heater, I can hear it trying to start (ticking), then I get a slight smell of gas then the red light comes on so I switch it off again. I have done this several times and it does the same thing every time.
The cold water has also stopped working now as well. I have had this before and it seemed to be a bad earth, so we connected a wire straight from the battery's neutral to the pump plug and it worked, up until now. Now the only way we can get the pump to work is by connecting the pump plug directly to the battery, but this means that it is running constantly. To switch it off we have to disconnect it from the battery. Please HELP, I am getting really fed up. Thanks for your time. A very unhappy Candy

Once you start getting problems with a microswitched water system its best to do away with the cabling & start again.
My way is to remove & tape up the positive cable from the back of the water inlet housing.
Then buy a whale floor mounted pressure switch & an inline 10 amp fuse holder & fuse.
Then u need to cut the water pipe coming from the back of the housing at floor level, (theres usually ample pipe) & fit it to the switch inlet side then from the switch outlet side to the taps etc.
Screw the pressure switch to the floor, then find a suitable live feed, even straight from the battery can be used if there isnt a close cable, as your going to fit the fuse holder between the battery & the switch, then find a suitable earth, you may already have one as youve already re earthed the housing.
Thats it job done, it can be done in less that half an hour & save hours trying to find the fault, its just a case of fine tuning the switch to start & stop correctly & thats just a knurled screw on the top of it, cost is around £20.
As for the carver, im not an expert in them but we do have a resident expert in Gary of ark systems, look down the list of postings for the headline "all carver cascade & p4 questions here, click into there, then hit any reply button, write your question then hit post this message, your question will be added to the rear of the reply list, he will know whats wrong & how to cure it.

Hi Keith. Thank you very much for that. I will try it next weekend. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again, regards Candice.
