Hello. From personal bad experience I would not recommend using PayPal. What can happen is that they inform you that they have received the money from the person to whom you have sold, you then send the item to the buyer believing you have their money. At any time after sending the item they send the following message:

"It has come to our attention that you may be the recipient of potentially
unauthorized funds. We have initiated an investigation into this event. In
the meantime, we have placed a temporary hold on the funds in question
until the investigation is complete. This temporary hold will show as a
deduction in your available balance. In the meantime, you are free to
continue transacting using your PayPal account."

That is the last you see of your money or the goods. They will give you no information about what has happened because of 'regulations'. Here is all they will tell you:

"Regarding your email request for a detailed explanation on why a payment
was reversed, please note that due to FSA regulations, PayPal is not
permitted to release any details of another account under any
circumstances. Therefore we cannot divulge the status of another account
holders account regardless of the circumstances."

There are, of course, many transaction that this does not happen on. There is a website devoted to PayPal tales of woe, the address is: http://www.paypalsucks.com/

The safest way, by post, is a cheque; wait till it clears (six days after you pay it in), and then post the goods, all costs for their account. Or, in person, but not on your own, exchange for old low denomination notes.

don't let Charlie put you off he sounds like a disgruntled paypal user who has not used it properly.

paypal is simple! DO NOT accept payments from unverified users because you are not covered for charge backs etc. however if you only accept payments from verified users you will never be at loss because paypal cover the loss.

i too am speaking from personal experience numerous times and paypal have always come good.

Hello everyone. Disgruntled of Benfleet here! I and many other PayPal users were happy and thought they knew what they were doing until their funds were taken back. PayPal is not answerable to anyone. They do not have to follow banking regulations. They can take your money or freeze your account and there is nothing you can do about it. If anyone should doubt this, don't believe me, just visit http://www.paypalsucks.com to see the stories of many others.

this is what i mean, whatever you do don't click the link that Charlie gives in his post "ITS A EXPLOIT SERVER" and is not safe.

pay pal and the internet for that matter is as safe as you want it to be just a little common sense go's a long way.

Hello everyone. It is very sad that when you try to help someone that it receives such a reaction. Paypalsucks.com is a harmless and helpful website. nothing will happen to you by visiting it. It has 86,390 registered users on its forum. Type paypalsucks into Google and you will see 1000s of pages pointing you in their direction to warn you against the use of PayPal, you will see nothing bad about paypalsucks. Type 'paypalsucks exploit' into Google and you will find nothing. Everything is always okay till it goes wrong! I recommend everyone to read what could happen to you. No praise of PayPal will give anyone their money back.

Take notice of Charlie, a friend has had the same experience as him. As for the web site being dodgy it has been going for ages now, and Charlie would not steer you wrong the guy knows what he is talking about.

I have used paypal to buy & sell goods and have had no problems. It sounds like the other answer against it has had a scam done on him. As long as the are verified by paypal you should have no problems at all.
I have been with them since 2001 and never had trouble and have 1043 feedbacks on ebay using this payment.
