HELP !!!
Can anyone offer some advice for a problem with a carver cascade2 water heater.
I cannot get more than a trickle from hot taps, and have checked everything for leaks, kinks in pipe etc.
SO - I removed and replaced the cold inlet complete with non-return valve.
NO DIFFERENT !
I removed the hot water outlet pipe and put it in a bucket and ran the pump - after the tank filled (3 buckets), water came out of the hot pipe, but only slowly.
Question - is there meant to be a restriction within the internal workings of the waterways or have I got a blockage, as I have tried to back flush the system as well.
Any help gratefully accepted as we are soon wanting to use the van for holidays.
Thankyou,
Andy

There must be water Cristal blocking the inlet or outlet inside the barrel.
You will need to dismantle the unit. It is not a DIY job as it will have to be are sealed go onto http://www.mcea.co.uk and get your local engineer to do the job.

I take it you mean you have replaced the water inlet housing, where you fit the pump to, if so its:-

Probably the non return valve fitted in the boilers inlet (bottom) connector is broken.
U have to remove the pipe then unscrew the connector, it usually snaps off leaving the thread in the boiler, u then have to drill a 10mm hole through the centre then use a junior hacksaw blade to cut the remainder into quarters, the thread can then be dug out with a small flat bladed screwdriver or a probe/bradawl etc.
I then use a towball mounting bolt with a V shaped slot cut in the first few threads to clean the boilers thread out before fitting a new connector.
Under no circumstances use an eazy out on the boiler as it will split the boiler open 100% of the time.
However:-
If thats what u meant when u said you had replaced the water inlet, then it will be the non return valve in the inlet housing.
P.s these boilers are not specialist sealed units, there's 1 large O ring seal at the front of the boiler & 1 small seal under the nut at the back of the boiler, strip down is simple & easy (if all goes well) but u will need the replacement seal kit if you were to strip one down, but i cant imagine why you would need to strip one down.
P.P.S, we are blessed with a resident expert on all things carver so in future if you post your messages about them in the post that reads something like, "all carver cascade & p4 questions here" he will happily give u advice very quickly, but he wont usually reply outside of that posting.

Andy rang me early last week and as far as I know we narrowed it down to the passage up to the tank and it's now working fine.
Mind you every odd phone call for the last three weeks seem to be this same problem! might then be confusing Andy with someone else?

Hi Gary ive been on me olls to sunny Turkey, then when i got back i had a couple of days on the computer then it blew up, just taken delivery of a 4 core supa computa, from a guy in carlisle, my word is it fast.

Ive come across 5 crystal mk 3 filters, guy bought 6 then sold his van before he got to use them, so ive bought them off him, if you know anyone wanting one let them know.
Possibly the last 5 in the country, anyone buying one can have a cheap mod done on them by me when their life span is used up, this will save them the 80 quid or so to convert back to a mk 2, which is also going obsolete shortly, the new truma ultraflow is taking over from it.

Hope you enjoyed your hols Keith, I have to wait until January but then again I don't mind...I'll be booking the flight shortly LOL

4 core? is this an extra wire in three core!!! I'll stick with me 1500+ AMD and 2.8g laptop thank you.... just wish I could sort out why 3's mobile broadband just sits there 'hanging' doing nothing on full signal before it springs into life, then works fine elsewhere on weak signal?????

As for mk3 filters, one went on ebay for £37+p&p!!! today someone's selling them at £9.99 buy it now!!
I sell a mk3 to mk2 conversion kit for £49.50 inclusive, £80!! there's some rip off merchants around?!
As for trauma stopping mk2 production..'typical' springs to mind!!

When i quoted £80 that includes the mk 2 pump, inlet housing & filter, i know you could probably get a mk 2 end connector & convert the mk 3 pump, but the pump alone is now £48 in our shop.
I am also going on hols in the winter but ive booked in december.
Yea as for mk 2 going obsolete, the storeman says he can't get any more mk 2 pumps already, on that one i'm not so sure, i dont know how hard he's looking, he may just need an empty ducket.
On the b/band issue, i first had a linksys modem & it was murder in only connecting when it felt like it, when i signed up for sky i got a new netgear one & it doesnt ever fail, its excellent.
